Wordless Wednesday...Quick Change Artist This is a photo of a lizard I took over Spring Break while visiting Pedernales Falls State Park with my son. This little guy was amazing... When on the sand, he became tan with spots... When on the tree, he became brown with spots... When on the grass, he became green... When on the rocks, he became grey... What a fascinating little fellow!

Speechless Sunday...Pedernales Falls State Park, a Texas Treasure! This past week was my son's spring break and since his coast trip didn't pan out and I had real estate business to attend to, we opted to take a day and have a staycation!  We visited Pedernales Falls State Park a little over an hour away from our home in the gorgeous Texas Hill Country. A place that my dad took me to several times in my youth...I had fond memories of it and we did a road trip and had a blast...enjoy the photos of this wonderful natural haven in the heart of the Hill Country!  If you are ever in our neckof the woods, check this place out! Nothing better than the Texas Hill Country in the springtime with my favorite boy!

In Jane Adsley-Chopp's first blog, she mentioned the fantastic lights at The Court House in Johnson City, Texas.  She is right on!                                     Gene & I drove to Marble Falls and on to Johnson City to see the "Lights Spectacular, Hill Country Style". This was the 19th annual light display of the Blanco County Courthouse and sure enough the over 100,000 lights on the building do illuminate the sky!   We got there just at dusk as they threw the switch.  Horse carriages began pulling up to take riders through the brightly decorated streets past local homes, businesses and churches all decked out in their Christmas finery.  It really felt like a winter wonderland.  There was a charter bus from Kileen that pulled up and parked itself right in front of the Court House b...

Johnson City is a Texas Hill Country town 48 miles west of Austin and 60 miles north of San Antonio. Johnson City is 25 miles south of the Highland Lakes community of Marble Falls and 30 miles east of Fredericksburg, so Johnson City is very centrally located and easily accessible from two large metropolitan areas, as well as numerous Hill Country resort destinations. Johnson City was established on the site of the Johnson Ranch on Town Creek, and in 1879, three sites were considered for settling a community on the shores of the Pedernales River, one being the site of the Johnson Ranch. The site submitted by James Polk Johnson, a 320 acre plot of land owned by the Johnson Family, was chosen at the gathering and accepted by a vote of the first settlers during a celebration and meal held a...
