New Sporting Goods Dealer Hits Katy/Houston Market with a Huge Splash Dick’s Sporting goods opened six store in the greater Houston area including one in Katy. This weekend marked this retailer's Grand Opening of each of these stores. I went yesterday and this is a huge operation with separate sections for Field & Stream, Golf, Sports Clothing/shoes plus equipment. I have to say I was amazed and the Katy store was packed with shoppers. Parking was not easy but you just had to be persistent. There are $10 savings coupons, with a purchase of $25 or more, in the Houston Chronicle as well as inside a mailer folks should have received in the mail. 2015 Halloween Event -  City of Katy Dog Park Party  The City of Katy Texas (Old Katy) will host its annual Howl-A-Ween party for local dogs and dog owners. The Dog and Owner Halloween Party will be held at the Katy Dog Park which is located at 5414 Franz Road, Katy Texas in Old or Historic Katy. The park is almost directly behind the Katy Branch Library and the available parking lot can be used for both facilities.
