Dogs and Cats Available at Citizens for Animal Protection (CAP) I posted a blog on Friday December 11, 2015 about a Home for Holidays event being held on Saturday and Sunday Dec 12 and dec 13 at CAP. The main function was to encourage folks to adopt available dogs, cats and other animals for the holidays and to raise needed funds to keep these poor homeless 4 legged friends in their shelter until a permanent home can be found.   I was able to go there on Sunday afternoon. I did see several adoptions of both dogs and cats were under way. There were many individuals and families considering adoption. This is all good news.  Katy, Texas is my Mayberry.If you have read much of my writings, which aren’t necessarily plentiful, you know that I love small town America.  I grew up in a small Texas town that didn’t see a lot of change over the years.  In fact, that town is still very small.  It was kind of like Mayberry in the TV series.  Everybody knew everybody and it was a great place to grow up.Awhile back, I stumbled across a piece of property for sale.  A half acre of vacant land in a residential section of Katy, Texas.  And we bought it.  Took about a year and a half to get our house built, but alas this past February my husband, our 3 dachshunds (Roxie, Reba, and Betsy), and I moved in and set up house.Katy is about 25 miles west of downtown Houston.  So we are very close to the city.  The suburban area a... 05/13/2015

Easter Bunny is available for picture taking but there are fees. Spanish Language Computer Class in Katy   Numerous folks who live in or around the Katy area native language is Spanish. The Katy Branch Library which is part of the Harris County Library system is hosting a Spanish Language practice class on Friday September 20, 2013. The library is located at 5414 Franz Road, Katy Tx 77493 with phone being 281-391-3509.The Librarian is Angel Hill.   The class is aimed to teach participants computer basics, social networking skills and some office skills. I Hit 700,000 AR Point Mark in Katy and Google Penguin Questions Earlier this week I reached the Active Rain 700,000 point mark and frankly no one but me noticed. I guess that was no surprise but I have always been too laid back to blow my own horn very much. If I look back to early May 2011 I was quagmired in the low 70 K point level and had written a few lousy blogs. I decided I would become more imvolved in AR as my business needed a shot in the arm. Water Aerobics Class in Katy at Peckham Park   A water aerobics class will be held on Thursday May 9, 2013 at Mary Jo Peckham Park in Katy. The park’s address is 5597 Gardenia Lane Katy Texas. The class starts at 6 PM.   This will be a one hour class and is intend to burn off calories by using water low impact exercise to do it.
