Experts are saying even setting up and sticking to a regular walking program will make a major difference. The less active someone is later in life the more benefit you will receive by just adding a small amount of exercise to your daily routine.  A new Swedish study found people older than 75 who were physically active and took part in social activities lived an average of 5.4 years longer than their less active contemporaries. This is a major positive to motivate folks to get physically and socially active. The findings also showed even at age 85 or older a physically active and social lifestyle w...

Almost Wordless Wednesday - Sunrise and Sunset I have always been intrigued by sunrise and sunset pictures. Below are a few pictures I took with my IPhone during our quick New Years trip to Waikiki and back to Katy. It was a long plane ride but well worth it. I had not been to Honolulu, Hawaii in many years and I was pleasantly surprised how beautiful the main drag area near the ocean had become. My memory from over 10 years ago was not a good one and I could wait to leave to travel to another island. The weather was great ,scenery gorgeous and Mai Tai’s special.. Mahalo..   Almost Wordless Wednesday - Sunrise and Sunset

Weather Alert - Katy/Cypress/Houston The whole Houston area is under a weather freeze alert as temperatures are dropping. In some areas such as Cypress it is already 32 degrees and falling. The problem is complicated as there is some rain coming down and a courier driver  who just came to our office said the roads are icing up. Live to play another day and get home safely while it is still daylight outside. It is being predicted tonight lows will be in the low to middle 20’s depending on where you live.  I know my friends and colleagues in cold weather areas are probably laughing right now but this whole area is not use to or prepared for this type of weather.  Homes in this area are certainly not built to withstand cold weather. There is no foul weather road equipment to use on the roa...

Breaking News! Katy/Rosenberg - Dog of the Week ADOPTED!!  I published this past week a post concerning my Dog of the Week available for adoption. His name is Dexter ID 9677. I spent a fairly large amount of time with Dexter last Saturday as I am a volunteer at the Fort Bend County Animal Services Animal Shelter in Rosenberg TX. I hoped by making him my Dog of the Week he would get adopted. I also posted his information from the Shelter’s web site on other social media sites using their system. In addition, I also posted a article about the Shelter holding a Pet Holiday Photos with Santa on this past Friday as the event was held yesterday December 17, 2016. I included Dexter’s picture that I took. Dexter was traumatized and very scared when I first saw him in his pen last Saturday. He i...

Katy Old Fashioned Christmas Festival 2016 - Rescheduled I had originally wrote a post concerning an Old Fashioned Christmas being held in Old or Historic Katy TX back on December 2, 2016. This annual event was suppose to be held on the following day or Saturday December 3, 2016. Due to fairly heavy rain in the whole area the Katy Old Fashioned Christmas was rescheduled to Saturday December 17, 2016. I have copied my prior post and updated it for this change. I did post December 3, 2016 concern about the event being held due to the bad weather. Numerous people look forward to attending this event every year as well the local small business owners who are hoping to sell their wares.  On Saturday December 17 , 2016 an Old Fashioned Christmas Festival is being sponsored by Katy Market Days...

Simple Solution for Eyelid Allergy Attack Last Tuesday, I had to make an eye doctor appointment as my eyelids were constantly bothering me. I felt like I was being stuck with a small pin in my eyelids! Yolanda looked at my eyes on Tuesday morning and told me the eyelids looked bad. She said in no uncertain terms, I needed to go to the eye doctor as soon as possible. Of course I moaned that I did not have time. I knew she was correct and I had made the appointment on the way to work.  Our eye doctor fit me in at 1 PM for an appointment which at least that day was an excellent time. I easily found a parking spot . Finding a spot is usually a huge pain and a luck game. This medical group being the Houston Eye Associates has over 50 doctors all involved with eyes issues and numerous patient...
