This afternoon, we went to the Lakeway City Park in Lakeway Texas for their annual Eggstravaganza. It was a free-for-all egg gathering, not really a hunt as nothing was hidden.  They also had a petting zoo, an Easter Bunny, and a Cookie Decorating station. They had things separated into age groups.  Landon was being patient, but then really wanted to go, so he went in the 3-4 year old group instead of waiting for the 2 year olds. The City of Lakeway is hosting its annual Eggstravaganza on Saturday March 23 at the Lakeway City Park. This year will be a little different that last year, and it sounds more organized and more fun.  Instead of everything starting just exactly at 2pm and becoming a mad-house, 2pm will have a petting zoo, the Easter Bunny, and music play until about 2:45, in which the older kids will go first, ages 7-8. The 5-6 year olds will go at 2:55pm, 3-4 year olds at 3:05pm and the 1-2 year olds at 3:15pm. This is a great idea to separate out all the times for families with mulitple kids. The City of Lakeway is starting a new recycling program that will begin the week of April 1st in an effort to further reduce landfill waste.  The recycling service will be one day per week on the same day as trash service.   Residents will be provided with a 65 gallon blue cart which will be delivered between March 20th and April 1st.  Current recycling containters will be picked up during the month of April. The City of Lakeway holds it's Annual Lights On! tonight from 6:30 PM - 9:30 PM in the Activity Center parking lot and the area directly behind City Hall. Bring the kids (young and old!) to meet Santa and Mrs. Claus on this most magical of nights. Santa, Mrs. Claus and Rudolph will plug in the Trail of Lights display and be available to visit with all of Lakeway's good little boys and girls.   LAKE TRAVIS SCHOOLS Board screens scoreboard, advertising options Lake Travis school district board members reviewed scoreboard costs and advertising agreements from Daktronics Sports Marketing at their Sept. 18 meeting, including a possible deal with the company so it could sell advertising on the scoreboard at Cavalier Stadium. One option — priced at $487,183 — would include a 17-foot by 31-foot video screen scoreboard, contingency costs, three high-definition cameras, headset kits and a master control board. The board also reviewed several advertising plans from Daktronics, which has advertising models in Southlake Carroll, Laredo and San Antonio school districts. Real Estate in the Lakeway TX area, out by Lake Travis, is booming with sales.  Preowned homes for sale as well as New Construction homes for sale.  Single Family Homes for Sale as well as Condos for sale. There is even an Active Adult community in Lakeway for ages 55 and older with many new homes going up. One of the communities in the City of Lakeway that is starting to pick up again is the Vistas at Lakeway. This is a condo community that started about 5 years ago. Just over a year ago, the community was taken over by a new builder, Prominence Homes, and it's taken a while to get construction going on a consistant level.  The previous concept for the condos was each building had 5 units, a combo of 1 story and 2 story plans.
