The City of Lakeway's Lake Travis Community Library is hosting its own 2011 Dancing with the Stars Gala at the World of Tennis on Sunday, October 2, 2011 at 6:30pm. Lakeway TX had a great Summer with 74 home sales from June 1 - August 31, 2011! There are also currently 22 properties that are under contract pending closing.  In 2010, during the same time period, there were 70 Lakeway home sales. Pretty even year over year. Another story brews within these home sales in the City of Lakeway TX.I want to take a look at the percent of list price vs sales price. Across the country, real estate "experts" like to say that sellers will take 20 and even 30% off their asking prices... not in the general Austin area, and not in Lakeway TX either.  However, there is some unique activity that has changed in homes for sale in Lakeway TX over 2010 and 2011.  Look at this bar graph. The City of Lakeway is having their 2nd annual Public Safety Day & Bike Rodeo. We went last year, and it had a lot of information for kids and adults alike.  There will be police cars, boats, helicopters, fire trucks and so much more. Last year, they even had a bomb robot that was pretty cool looking. The Lakeway Public Saefty Day and Bike Rodeo will be this coming Saturday, September 10, 2011 from 9am - 4pm at the Lake Travis Elementary School at 15303 Kollmeyer Dr, 78734. Other activities going on will include a kids fun zone, child fingerprinting, VIN etching, and live music!  The Bike Rodeo part is where they will inspect your bike for safety, do helmet fitting, and let you ride your bike through a safety obstacle course. As of 6/1/2011, the most expensive listing price was $999,999 and the most expensive sales price was $910,000 (not necessarily the same home, either). The highest sales price/listing price ratio was 110.3% (bidding war?), and the lowest was 80% of listing price. Another new multi family development in Lakeway.  At the cornor of RR 620 and Falconhead Boulevard Ceilo Residential Partners will begin building Lakeway multi family units by this September.  The property is 78 acres and overlooks Lake Austin.     The Lakeway Regional Medical Center is set to open Phase 1, February 2012.  Less than one year! It's hard to believe it is really here.

The City of Lakeway TX is have their annual Eggstravaganza this Saturday, April 16, 2011 at 2:00pm at the Lakeway City Park.  There are many activities going on so it's fun for the entire family.  If you're not there at exactly 2pm for the egg hunt, you're going to miss out because they start right at exactly 2pm!! If you don't want the mad rush of the egg hunt, some of the other activities taking place are a petting zoo, tattoo artists, and a musical puppeteer, Cowgirl Sue. The City of Lakeway used to be known as a "sleepy" city. This is where people went to retire or to purchase second homes to get away from the hussle and bussle of the city life of Austin TX.  Now, it's a booming city just West of Austin TX and there are people of all ages. Because of the influx of people relocating to the Austin TX area, and targeting top school districts, the Lake Travis ISD is a big influence for people relocating to Lakeway TX. Since the beginning of the year, there have been 37 sales (these sales are houses only, not condos or townhomes).  7 have been Foreclosures, which is actually high for the area. There are also 34 properties currently pending, waiting to close.  That's 71 sales. As you can see from the above chart, the sales prices have hoovered in the $250-350...
