Something has happened to my radio.  The last few weeks I have been driving our second car which does NOT have Sirius radio.  I have been forced to listen to the AM/FM dials on my daily travels.  I found the oldies station from Dallas that I listened to when I was a pre-teen and into my high school years.  I remember listening to the songs with my Mom and she would reminisce when her songs came on from her high school years.  All her favorites from the 50's.  The Big Bopper's "Chantilly Lace",  Johnny Otis' "Willie And The Hand Jive", The Platters' "The Great Pretender", The Pengins' "Earth Angel", and of course Elvis Presley's "Jailhouse Rock".  Mom would share her memories about sock hops, high school football games and her first boyfriends.  She grew up in the small town of Mexia and...

One of  our favorite places to spend a day or two and just escape the rat race, is at our family place on Lake Limestone in central Texas. The lake is a Brazos River Authority goverened lake, and all of the property on the lake is private, except for a few public accesses and  small parks. The lake is fed by the Navasota River.  In about 1978 our firm developed a subdivision on the lake known as Summerplace, and we built a weekend home for the entire family to enjoy in about 1984. Since that time, we  have had many fun days together with friends and family. I have to say as much as I like water sports including  boating, skiing, and fishing, nothing beats just sitting on the pier visting with friends and family and watching the clouds roll by while enjoying a burger and a cool iced tea...
