Special Government Home Renovation Loan Program using Navasota TX FHA 203K Loans.     Many people are not aware of a special government loan program that is part of the Federal Housing Administration or FHA(a department within HUD). Steam Train 844 in All Its Glory! From April 11, 2010 in Texas. This steam train is huge.  When you stand next to it, you feel minuscule.  The black panels on the sides are a little different than I'm used to seeing on trains in the United States.  My source says the panels are smoke deflectors. Here the train is roaring out of Navasota.  The amount of steam is impressive.  I really like this shot. I think this is a different angle from the last shot, but this one captures more of the vertical steam and smoke.  I think it is so wonderful that when steam trains have excursions like this, people of all ages come to watch and observe the awesome trains.  In a day and age when most people don't know their neighbors, its heartwarming to see the community turn out to laugh and smile together. 02/04/2011

On Thursday Sonya, my assistant, and I went to Navasota, Texas to look around.  This, in part, because we serve the Navasota market as well.  Navasota is about 20 miles south of College Station and always seems just like a stop for gas on the way to Houston.I've seen an Ace Hardware Store advertised on T.V. by the name of Turner, Pierce and Fultz.   Sounds like a law firm...  Anyway, there it was, smack in the middle of our field trip.  I mentioned to Sonya that the little Wisconsin town that my husband is from has a hardware store that is fantastic.  It's hardware, gift shop, furniture all rolled into one.  We decided to explore this hardward store.FANTASTIC!!!!  You wouldn't believe the treasures we found here!  Exactly like the little hardware store I remember in Oconomowoc.  This pl... 09/08/2007

I recently blogged about a small city near us and in our MLS called Navasota.  Real estate is quite the bargain there, and the town features many anibellum homes and older churches.  It is quite picturesque in some areas.Navasota currently has 45 active listings in our MLS.  The most expensive of these is a property listed for $899,000.  It is a 4 bedroom, 2 full bath and 2 half bath with 5,000 square feet situated on a almost 50 acre property with a live creek flowing through it.  The property has a petrified wood fireplace and a beautiful pool.Our MLS reported the average sales price last month of $167K.  Let's take a look at what you can get for that in Navasota.  For a list price of $165K there is a five bedroom, 2 bath house that is 3,053 square feet.  It is situated on one acre of... 09/08/2007

I announced to my assistant that we are going to do monthly field trips!  Little visits to neighboring communities that have listings in our MLS.  Here is the first of many.Navasota, Texas was born on the heels of a stagecoach stop here in the wilderness we call Texas.  Stores popped up and trade was king in those days!  Later three railroads chose to run through this town, making it another important stop in the mid Texas region.  Today this area thrives because of industry.  Many manufacturing plants have come to roost here.  Along with that we have many retirees making this home because of the low tax base and the beautiful homes!Navasota is in Grimes County and has more turn of the century housing than most places.  Beautiful antibellum mansions spring from the earth on many streets... 09/06/2007
