MLS Report for November 2014 HOUSTON HOME BUYERS KEEP THE MARKET BUZZING IN NOVEMBER Inventory level tightens while prices reach November highs HOUSTON — (December 10, 2014) — Homes appear to be high on holiday shopping lists as consumers continued to snap up properties in November, pushing prices up once again while driving the supply level down. The majority of the month’s sales activity took place among homes priced between $250,000 and the millions. According to the latest monthly report prepared by the Houston Association of Realtors (HAR), single-family home sales totaled 5,092 units, an increase of 1.8 percent compared to November 2013. My Goodness... it has been an eventful week for the Pearland Home Team!!  We were blessed to be able to assist with the Share Your Holidays Food Drive @The Pearland Neighborhood Center on Friday (and Mickey/Minnie Mouse came with us to help out and meet the children)  And wow...what an amazing turn out!  It was so wonderful and heart warming to see all the donations rolling in, and the volunteers that came together to support our community.  What a wonderful town we get to call home. The Pearland Christmas Parade is a local Christmas season favorite! It will be held this Satuday (December 6th). The parade will start at 6pm and travels a route along FM 518 from Pearland Parkway to Old Alvin Road. Every year the parade brings out tons of area families to watch local businesses and groups compete for prizes. This year's theme is "A Parade of Trees." Floats are entered by individuals and businesses and they will be judged on their creativity in representing the theme. The theme changes each year. There will be drill teams, classic cars, company floats, bands and so much more! Bring your lawn chairs or picnic blankets and get ready to enjoy a great evening of Christmas themed fun! This weather has spurred some "Spring" cleaning. While posting on another AR blog I remembered Cindy Bryant's post, "Staging Under the Bathroom Sink - AR Contest". It was a great contest.    Many vowed to take a look at their sinks. I even did... but since then it has gotten cluttered again and needs a good cleaning. This is going to be accomplished later today. Today is National Cappuccino Day!   Did you ever wonder where cappuccino came from? Not me. However, it better be there when I am ready to drink it on a cold and frosty morning!    I read up on cappuccino and I found that the word comes from the the Italian Capuchin Catholic friars. The word Capuchin means hood or something that is worn on the head.   The hot drink itself is named cappuccino not for a hood or head covering...but for the brown color of the friars hooded robes.   Cappuccino, an Italian drink, is made from espresso, hot milk, and steamed-milk foam.   Do you know what is as satisfying as indulging in a hot cappuccino?
