          The Pine Hollow subdivision is a fantastic community! When you first enter the Pine Hollow Subdivision, you immediately notice mature trees and beautiful landscaping.   As mentioned in a previous blog, the deadline to file a homestead exemption in Brazoria County is April 30, 2011. I would also like to warn all recent home buyers of home exemption scams out there. There are many businesses that send official-looking letters that suggest that a fee - typically $50 or more- that must be paid for a homeowner to get the exemption. They may also state that their company handles homestead exemption filings for the state of Texas. These claims can be deceptive. Texas state law requires these companies to make it clear that they are not a governmental agency however, most people do not pay close attention to the fine print and only take into consideration the initial "official look" of the letter.  Please keep an eye out of these scams. I get asked this question a lot.  The answer is actually quite simple: Its what someone is willing to pay for it!   How do you know what potential buyers are willing to pay for you home?
