Pearland Open House or No Open House? I get questioned quite often on if clients should there be an open house or no open House? Pearland Open houses are a bit of a confusing prospect for many home sellers. Some real estate agents swear by them, while others don't ever hold open houses.    Pearland Housing Market The other day I was reading an article, "Economic Armegeddon Weighs on Area Property Sales,"put out by the Houston Association of Realtors (HAR).  It stated that property sales in February fell "a whopping 26 percent compared to the same period last year."  The article also stated that the sales of foreclosed properties, which usually sell well below market value, made up 28 percent of all sales and dragged down both average and median prices.  Furthermore, the article grimly forcated that we would see more of the same in March with pending sales and active listings way down from months prior: "Though there are bargains to be had, with 401ks diminishing and more layoffs looming, potential home buyers are content to sit back and wait for the smoke to clear."   ...

This past weekend, Pearland Parks and Recreation hosted its Annual Pearlnd Paws in the Park.  It was a BLAST!  One of the many reasons why I love Pearland is the great community events we have!  There were so many people from our community there and we all had a great time! Pearland Paws in the Park kicked things off on Saturday morning with the HEB Plus! Pet and Owner Fun Run followed by the national “Dock Diving” competition presented by Meadowlake Pet Resort. This were two neat events to watch! Check out Parks and Recreation's website for some great photos! Another aspect of Paws in the Park - and perhaps my favorite - was author Ruth Zavitsanos.  Zavitsanos traveled from the northeast to be at our Pearland community event.  She has a wonderful childrens' book titled The Villa Dog.  ...

I did a consult this weekend, with some staging, and the homeowners couldn't believe how the changes had made such a big difference.  They both commented that they would have never thought of doing these things and were so glad that the suggestions made were doable. Pearland Old Townsite Farmer's Market   This past weekend marked the grand opening of the Pearland Old Townsite Farmer's Market. If you weren't there, you missed an exciting community event!   Every year on March 17th, you can see scores of people dressed in green, pictures of four leaf covers and leprechauns, and even food dyed in the color green all to honor St. Patrick's Day.  But what is the real story behind this fun celebration?
