New Construction homes in Plano Texas While most of the city is built out, there are still a few places in Plano for home builders to build brand new homes.  The housing boom in Plano Texas really started in the mid-1970s, and then continued at a rapid pace until the late-1990s.  While we were still building after the millennium, the pace was just a bit slower than it had been in the past (as many people started looking north to Frisco, Allen, and McKinney where prices were a bit lower)...but the real estate market was still strong in Plano until around 2007-2008.  Of course, the real estate market slowed down across the country around that time. Plano Balloon Festival 2014 Each year, Plano Texas becomes the Hot Air Balloon Capital of Texas!  No surprise this year that a great event is planned.  On September 19th, we kick off the 35th Annual Plano Balloon Festival at Oak Point Park.    This weekend-long event begins at 4:00pm Friday, September 19th and ends September 21st.  This annual event is held at Oak Point Park, 2801 E. An often retold story in our circle of friends centers around one of our college companions, Charlie. He had been dating his girlfriend, Linda,  for years.
