For the LOVE of helping I had an updesk call from a family in a bad situation. They desperately needed to sell and quickly! I went to the home that evening and was very disappointed in the home as it needed many repairs , including foundation and come to find out the mortgage had not been paid in awhile! The parents had allowed the adult kids and their kids to move in and the house was close to hoarder status! Rockwall is unique in many ways!   One unique character is most cities in Texas are named after a person but Rockwall is named after a narrow row of hard mineral stones that appear to be stacked on top of one another, forming what looks like a "Rock Wall". I went to highschool in Rockwall and I never saw this wall but I have heard it is on private land. The city tried to pass a bond program to purchase the land, excavating the wall and preserving it but the bond program failed.  Other ways Rockwall is unique is it is the "smallest" county in Texas on one of the "bigger" lakes, Lake Ray Hubbard. Residents enjoy the Harbor area for movies, dining and boating.   It also has a unique revitalized downtown square with an assortment of dining and shopping! I am building a home near Rockwall so I decided it was time to move my Active Rain Blog to Rockwall County. I will still sell all over North Texas as the I always say "have license, will travel" ! I recently sold a home in Waxahachie, which was a wonderful experience. Rockwall Texas Market Report for March 2016Rockwall has had an increase in listings and closed sales from March 2015. The average sales price has fallen slightly, but will likely increase as we head into the spring selling season. Over 200 listings are currently under contract with days on market down. I believe these sales will raise the average sales price as many homes are being bid on by a surplus of buyers. Rockwall was my highschool hometown!
