While a great deal of the state of Texas is comprised of estates and expensive ranch homes, there are still neighborhoods within the various cities that offer a more reasonably priced cost of living, with a more simple direction in housing. The Texas architecture is a quite diverse mix of Texas vernacular style homes, old Spanish, French, Italian, and Victorian homes, as well as a great mixture of turn-of-the century styles, with several contemporary and modern homes. The fifties also permeate many areas, with several homes still resembling the 1950’s development of several sections of the state.
