Tomorrow, Thursday November 20th, 2014 is the big night for the Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony!  At 6:00 p.m. the program will begin and the tree will be lit by Anna King who is a heart transplant recipient at 7:00 p.m.  Each year a deserving child is chosen to have the honor of lighting the tree.   Enjoy carriage rides around Market Street, visit the many stores there that will be offering goodies and other treats.  Music, holiday entertainers and more will be adding to the festive atmosphere.  This is a yearly event that you really do not want to miss!   Insider tips:   *Get there early!  The place fills up quickly! *Park at the Mall and walk over.  It will make getting out of there at the end of the evening a lot easier. *Be prepared for all kinds of weather.  Our south Texas weat...

PICTURES WITH SANTA IN THE WOODLANDS ~ 2012 Those special photo memories are always appreciated as children grow up.  One of everyone's favorite memories is getting to sit on Santa's knee each year.  You can have your picture made with Santa right here in The Woodlands at Market Street.  From now through Christmas Eve right next to Allen Edmonds, Santa will be available to visit and have your picture made. TEXANS PEP RALLY ~ THE WOODLANDS ~ 2012 The Woodlands is hosting a huge pep rally for our TEXANS tonight at Market Street.  The event will begin at 7:00 to cheer on our 11-1 team!  We face New England tonight and we are excited around here! There will be some special guests and I also heard that The Woodlands High School band will be playing!  You can bet that Market Street will be abuzz with Texans fans gearing up for our big game.  The Texans Cheerleaders are also expected to be there. THE MARKET STREET THE WOODLANDS CHRISTMAS TREE LIGHTING 2012   The Market Street in The Woodlands Christmas Tree will officially be lit on Thursday, November 15th.  Beginning at 6 p.m. - 7:30, the annual tree will be lit by a deserving young child.  You will want to arrive early so plan on having dinner at one of the fine restaurants in Market Street. The child chosen this year to light the tree is Grant Meerman.  Grant is 6 years old and was diagnosed with Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy three years ago.  He will most likely be wheelchair bound by the age of 10.  Grant's family is dedicated to helping Grant as the disease progresses.  You can visit the website about him at www.saveourboy.org. Just when you think you have seen it all,  some clever someone comes up with another advertising idea.   As we were spending time in one of our favorite markets yesterday we rounded a corner and came face to face with the sign in the photo.   As it happens we both have a serious weakness for Cheetos.  But thankfully we don't eat them very often since they are really somewhat questionable as to their content.   Luckily we had had a Cheeto snack earlier in the day.  So the sign was really a chuckle to us!   Without having had our recent fix we could have been a serious danger as we attempted to find some Cheetos.   Although it is doubtful that any of us would mistake a Cheeto for a banana,  it makes for an interesting mental visual.   The experience also challenged us to come up with mor...
