The National Weather Service is issuing a severe thunderstorm warning for our area tomorrow evening.  Our 32nd Annual Lighting of the Doves program is being rescheduled.  The original date was for Saturday, November 22, 2014 and will now be held on Sunday, November 23, 2014 at 5:00 p.m.   This is a family favorite event!  Santa will officially arrive, ice carvers will be creating amazing ice sculptures, fireworks, activities for the kids and much, much more!  Don't let a delay cause you to miss out on this exciting event.  Being our 32nd year, we have watched this event grow from a modest event to its current showcase!   The event takes place at Town Green Park and along the Waterway!  Plan to arrive early so you won't miss out on a thing!  Parking can be a challenge so plan accordin...

28th ANNUAL LIGHTING OF THE DOVES ~ THE WOODLANDS, TX ~ NOVEMBER 30, 2010   I can hardly believe that this will be the 28th year for the Lighting of the Doves!  I have been in this area for over 20 years and remember when this event was in its infancy and was held before there was an overpass of Woodlands Parkway over Grogan's Mill. The original Lighting of the Doves took place right at the site where the overpass now goes crosses.  The event was small and brought out the local school bands and cheerleaders.  Today the event brings in thousands of visitors and there are many, many local performances from high school and junior high bands, choirs, dance groups, cheerleaders and more!  The current event now runs from early afternoon until 9 p.m. culminating in the actual lighting ceremony...
