Christian Youth Theater presents Rodgers and Hammerstein's OKLAHOMA! Thursday, May 15 - Sunday, May 18th. From the CYT website: Set in a Western Indian territory just after the turn of the century, the high-spirited rivalry between the local farmers and cowboys provides the colorful background against which Curly, a handsome cowboy, and Laurey, a winsome farm girl, play out their love story. Although the road to true love never runs smooth, with these two headstrong romantics holding the reins, love's journey is as bumpy as a surrey ride down a country road. That they will succeed in making a new life together we have no doubt, and that this new life will begin in a brand-new state provides the ultimate climax to the triumphant OKLAHOMA!   Performances will be held at the Lone Star Perf...

In case you haven't noticed...Tomball is not a small town anymore!  We have had so much growth these last years, and that has brought the retailers also.  Not only do you have major shopping stores such as Ross, Marshalls, Academy, Kohls, etc.  We also have an awesome amount of small businesses.  You can find original, eclectic, and tasty gifts right in the heart of downtown.  Stores such as the Turquoise Door, O'Suzanna's, Trinity Jewelers, and Frosted are just a few off of Main Street.  It is definitely worth the stop!  Let these fantastic shops  (and many, many more) help you find the perfect gift this holiday season!

Stress Relief Lunch With The Ducks & Baby Ducks -- By Tomball Realtor I spotted these ducks near four corners in Tomball, behind an office building. They all seem to have the same red mask with lots of red bumps. Look at these adorable baby ducks, I guess you would call them ducklings.  Cute as a button. One last look at the batch of ducks by the fence.  I always promise to bring them food.  I will have to get a loaf of bread next time.

Here is a video about Yellowstone National Park.  It discusses he best season to visit Yellowstone.  I hope you enjoy it and are able to visit Yellowstone yourself someday.  The bison or buffalo are an awesome sight, and, in at least one section of Yellowstone, large herds of bison cross the road at least once a day.  Imagine hundreds of bison walking along and over the road you are driving in on your car.  It is really an awe inspiring sight.  It usually causes a traffic jamb, but everyone can see the bison up close during the slow progression. http://www.nps.gov/yell/photosmultimedia/visitingyellowstone.htm   This is the Tomball Depot, which is not too far from my office.  By the way, the second Saturday of each month, there is a get-together at the Depot with movies, games and tours ...

Cool burnt orange car I saw today in Tomball, Texas.  It was near the Nook Restaurant off of FM 2920. This is a classic design that should stand the test of time.  It has very sleek styling, and I like the wing as well.  It is an eclipse.  I'm sure I will see ones like it at the next car show in Vintage Park on the first Saturday of the month at 8am - 10am.  Vintage Park is at 249 and Louetta.  Hope to see you there.

Did you file your 2012 Tax Form today?  I finally finished mine and feel like a great weight has been lifted off my shoulders.   The IRS forms are very easy to access these days.  And the instructions are available online as well, or you can print them.   I took this picture of some flowers near the Chicken Express in Magnolia off of FM1774.  The color was a vibrant purple.

Life it seems is all about competing!Even with friends that you are fond of,sometimes it is necessary to utilize strong arm techniques.Case in point was our goodbye lunch with our favorite lender.  She had paid last time we lunched together and I made it clear that this was our treat. She said no.  Ralph chimed in and playfully suggested that she and I arm wrestle for the check so we did.  As we started out I said ". I did tell you that I can lift a forty pound water bottle didn't I?"  She exclaimed an expletive and let me have the check.Winning is not everything, but it sure is fun!  You should have seen the waitresses face.... Priceless!!

Wreck this morning shortly after 9am in front of Lone Star College.  The traffic was backed up on State Highway 249 towards Magnolia this morning.  I took these pictures from the front porch of the Century 21 Hardee-Team Realty office.   Here is a close up of the wreck.  The emergency services were out there very fast. There were about 5 emergency vehicles all together, including ambulance, fire truck and police.  It is now 9:49am and the highway is clear.

These kids today completely amaze me!  I can barely carry a basketball and walk at the same time but they can run up and down the court swapping the ball back and forth between hands and shoot the ball at the basket at the age of 8.  Scary!!  But it is surely fun and inspiring to watch.  Wish I was coordinated!!

Last night we got treated to a night out with one of our sons .   The place was an olde favorite that is now sort of outside our daily stomping grounds.   As we entered we noted that the greeting cow in the entry was duded out in maradi gras attire.   I  immediately visualized the cow on the side of the street watching the parades and participating in the other seasonal frivolity.  It was a fun thought.   Practicality is not always the highest and best use of our thought processes.  After all, someone went to the trouble of conceiving the idea of a party cow!  They also gave the costume a lot of time and attention.   It should be a lesson to all of us to spend more time thinking outside the norm!  It may just make someone else's day a little brighter!
