Time to Protest Property Taxes Again!  Collin County Deadline is June 1st 2010. www.collincad.org                                                     I'm sure many of you have received your tax bill estimates in the mail over the last couple of weeks. The other day I had to stop in at Tractor Supply in Wylie for some great yard spray called "Pest Away".  It's wonderful at keeping the cats out of my flowerbeds. Anyways, I noticed the parking lot was full of people and their pets.  Veterinary Medical Care is offering basic pet vaccinations and heartworm test for cheap.  What a great service!  Tractor supply hpas heartworm preventatives and flea/tick control, so it's a one stop shop! The Annual 500 Pedal Car Race (courtesy of Wylie Downtown Merchants) will be held on Sunday, May 2, in Historic Downtown Wylie on Ballard Street.  Kids ages 2-5 are eligible to race.  Race day registration ($10 entry fee includes t-shirt) begins at 1 p.m. with races starting at 2 p.m.  Proceeds benefit Wylie Special Olympics and Downtown Wylie beautification. Tips for air conditioning maintenance, from an inspector, to do this spring! • Get your unit serviced at least annually Regular service will save money in the long run as well as ensuring your comfort. • Change your filters regularly Standard disposable filters should be replaced every month during the cooling season. While you may be tempted to buy the high priced versions that promise to take allergens out of the air, use the more moderate priced versions since a filter that is too restrictive makes the unit work harder and does little as far as reducing dust in the home, in my opinion. Equest Therapeutic Horsemanship in Wylie, TX 75098 was burglarized on Sunday April 11, 2010 just hours before their Special Olympics Region 10 Horse show, resulting in the loss of vital equipment and machinery to transport therapy horses and maintain the property.
