Freshening up a Home's Interior The best way to get a new look is PAINT! Try out different painting methods to get a big impact without digging deep into your pockets. Instead of a single flat coat of paint, consider using a technique called "sheen striping" to create a subtle and textural feel. When using stripes, remember:  Vertical stripes are great for making ceilings seem taller  Horizontal stripes can make the actual room seem larger  Smaller stripes that alternate in widths create a formal look  Wider stripes provide a more casual feel for your space With just a little Do It Yourself and some cr...

Wylie residents recycling efforts will soon be subject to closer inspection and grading!  Community Waste Disposal customers may soon notice a man going through their recycling carts.   The waste collection company has put a "recycling rewards challenge" as motivation to its customers to be more careful about the things they put in their recycling carts.   To prevent and educate residents a CWD recycling inspector will visit the carts the day before collection and place one of three tags on the cart. Green tag - Fantastic job and compliant with the recycling program Yellow tag - not too bad, but some items that should have been in the trash  Red tag - large amount of non-complying materials in cart   Those receiving green tags will have their names entered into a drawing for free pri...

3/31/10 UPDATE - Road Construction of FM 1378 (Country Club Drive) More construction from FM 544 to Brown Street about to beginThe Wylie City Council recently approved a contract to proceed with the reconstruction of FM 1378 (Country Club Drive) from FM 544 to Brown Street.  This is the route directly surrounding the new Municipal Complex.  The construction is scheduled to take just under 12 months to complete.
