Founders Park and Community Park Projects Move Forward The Wylie Texas City Council approved a contract to proceed with the expansion and renovation of Founders Park.  The contracts are a result of years of hard work by the Parks and Recreation Board and input from citizens and athletic associations during countless public meetings. The project is funded through a 2005 Bond Campaign approved by voters.  The $4.06 million Founders Park project will begin in the coming weeks and is projected to take less than a year to complete. There is still plenty of time to get tickets to this year's Boots 'n Barbecue Gala sponsored by the Wylie ISD Education Foundation. The March 27 event will be held at Southfork Ranch at 6 p.m. and the cost of an individual ticket remains $45, the same as last year. The cost to sponsor a table is $500. Local recording artist Jolie Holliday will perform at this seventh annual event. The foundation uses the proceeds to fund educator grants for the district.
