I went to my daughters Wylie East Highschool JV Volleyball tournament this weekend, which normally is dealt with some anticipation of the event, will we win? who will be eliminated? This tournament however had GREAT anticipation because we were playing Wylie High School! The new rival, the team we were supposed to be! Yes folks, our once small town with ONE football team has grown. Our Troops Are Coming Home!!    Tomorrow , Tuesday, August 25th, 2009, between 4:30pm - 6:30pm, the 121st Cavalry Texas Army National Guard Unit, based out of the Wylie Armory will be returning home from deployment overseas, between 4:30 PM and 6:30 PM .  Once they are in the DFW , they will travel from I-30 to HWY 205 thru Rockwall, down 78, to Ballard, to Brown, and then 78 to the Armory.  The patriot guard riders will escort them when they get into the DFW area.  Individuals or groups can line the route to show your support for their service.  You may create signs, wear red, white and blue and bring flags or balloons. I registered my daughter for 10th grade this morning on www.wylieisd.netwebsite.  I remember when my older kids brought home a form for registering. It was nice to sign on and register her online.  The steps were very clear and the whole process took me only 5 minutes. I noticed this time though, that I have the option of getting a report card in the mail or I can opt out and review her grades online.  I also used the lunch payment online. This is great if you don't want your kid to be responsible for carrying money to school. You can simply add your debit card or credit card information , any dollar amount and your child's lunch cost will be deducted from the total. Wylie Water Conservation Plan Adopted The City of Wylie, as required by the State of Texas, recently adopted a Water Conservation Plan that includes watering guidelines and restrictions.  North Texas Municipal Water District member cities began developing a model conservation plan following the 2006 drought in preparation for future dry periods. Watering Guidelines & Restrictions Watering lawns is prohibited between 10 am - 6 pm from April 1 through October 31 of each year.  Watering lawns is limited to twice per week based on your trash day.
