Do you love a good treasure hunt? Well, come on out to the twice-a-year, largest antiques show in the country! All right here in tiny, (population 86), Round Top, Texas. This show brings folks in from all over the country and even from many other countries.If you are looking for some unique finds, this is the place. I will typically bring a group of women and we rent a cool farmhouse and spend days shopping and having the time of our lives. Seriously, there are miles and miles of shows to attend.It is worth a trip to visit either the last month of March or the last month of September. Twice a year you can come and get your fix. For years I shave showed farm and ranch properties in Colorado, Arizona, and here in Texas one of two ways, in my one ton 4 wheel drive truck, or on foot.  I really enjoy 4 wheeling and it is very rare that I get stuck, but it does happen! And I also enjoy hiking large properties with Clients who want to.  But here in Texas the best way to show properties to Buyers that is a comfortable way for them to see as much of the an acreage property as possible - is with a personal all terrain vehicle escpecially when it is hot and muggy!  I shopped around and ended up purchasing a Kawasaki Mule.  4 wheel drive and two bench seats.  Of course I had to buy a trailer too but the investment was worth it.  My Clients can ride in comfort and it even has a cooler for cold beverages.  Just love my Mule... 05/21/2015

This weekend I volunteered at the Fayetteville Area Heritage Museum from 11-2 and afterwards I toured a beautiful renovated 1930's home for sale.Located on a big lot 109 N. I am excited to spend my first three hours as a Docent at the Fayetteville Area Heritage Museum today.The  museum is located at 217 North Washington Street on the Square.  The Museum is open  each week on Friday Saturday and Sunday from 2-4 pm and extra hours each Saturday from 11-2.  I will be at the museum for the early hours today learning all about the history that surrounds this historic City.  If you are interested in history that includes items of  local commerce, work, the settlers who made the City and the Surrounding area what it is today this is a great stop.   Come for lunch at one of the two local Restaurants Joes' or Orsaks and then come to the Museum for a fun and informative day!    The City of Fayetteville is about 13 miles from La Grange Texas.  FM 159 runs through tow... 05/15/2015

This last Saturday was the annual meeting at the Flatonia Photo Pavillion, where rail fans from all over meet to take photos of trains, buy or sell train memorabilia and just come to visit with other train buffs.  This year the meeting was blessed by perfect weather, the sky was clear most of the time and the temperatures were in the 70's and 80's.  As you can see there is even a wheelchair ramp.  There are several picnic tables to sit at under the cover.   The whole pavillion has great views of the railroad tracks. These train pictures were taken at Flatonia Texas near a pavillion where some of the rail fans gather twice a year to take pictures of trains for the day.  This 1915 up train came through at 9:18am. This freight train came through the big X (where two train tracks cross at 90 degree angles to form a big X) area at 10:12am. This 9434 up train came through at 10:13am.  The weather couldn't have been any better, sunny and cool in the morning.  A good time was had by all. There was a lull in the trains until 4:22pm, when up train 5552 came through.
