I'd like to take the time to ask you to consider adding me to your list of referred home inspectors in 2012. Please allow me to explain how I can benefit you and your clients.   FIRST OF ALL, I AM VERY WELL AWARE OF THE HARD WORK AND TIME YOU HAVE TO PUT INTO EACH AND EVERY POTENTIAL SALE. I UNDERSTAND HOW SOME INSPECTORS CAN LITERALLY "KILL THE DEAL" BY NOT REALIZING HOW TO PROPERLY INFORM THE BUYER OF CONCERNS IN A NON-ALARMING FASHION. SOME HOME INSPECTORS SEEM TO CAPITALIZE ON HOW MUCH STUFF THEY FIND WRONG AS IF IT GIVES THEM CREDIBILITY OF BEING A BETTER HOME INSPECTOR. I UNDERSTAND THAT HOME BUYERS NEED TO BE PROPERLY INFORMED OF CONDITIONS BUT NOT UN-NECESSARILY SCARED BY POOR COMMUNICATION FROM THE HOME INSPECTOR. I WILL NOT LEAVE YOUR CLIENTS SCARED BUT INSTEAD WELL INFORMED A...

The amount of junk mail being delivered to my condo has become so excessive and irritating that I have now claimed junk mailers to be a sworn enemy. My mailbox is nearly crammed solid every single day with gobs and gobs of marketing junk. I don't even browse through the enormous amount of junk but should I ever happen to see a companies name listed within it, I promise to not ever use that company again. I am declaring war on junk mailers. I am in search of weapons or ideas to help launch an attack. If anybody has any ideas or suggestions than please feel free to comment.. If anybody is sending junk mail to South Ogden, Utah, PLEASE give us a break!

The most common defect found during Ogden, Utah Home Inspections   The lack of DOWNSPOUT EXTENSIONS. THIS PROBLEM SHOULD BE TAKEN SERIOUSLY. Most home owners pay little attention to their downspouts. The majority of Ogden, Utah homes lack any form of downspout extensions at all which basically defeats the entire point of having gutters.   Many home owners assume that since they have new gutters or nice gutters that their downspout extensions are sufficient. Such assumptions are wrong. Downspout extensions aren't usually provided by the gutter installation company because anything past the lower 45 degree angle is considered landscaping.   Not having downspout extensions can often cause more damage than if the home had no gutters at all. The whole purpose of gutters is to direct the wat...

Moisture detection during Ogden Utah Home Inspections In an average year, moisture and water damage cause more destruction among homes than all other disaster concerns combined. One of the major benefits of thermal imaging is it's incredible ability to detect hidden moisture.       Infrared home inspections have proven to be the most be valuable addition to the inspection industry in history. Thermal imaging is allowing us to see things that the human eye has no way of seeing. SO MANY of these older Ogden Utah homes have leaks and moisture intrusions that are active but simply not visible without Infrared.. Now we don't have to wait for signs of moisture(staining, warping, sagging, corrosion). We can now detect moisture long before moisture damage becomes an issue. Early detection equa...

Avoid Costly Mold Testing with Utah Infrared Home Inspections   I don't necessarily want to say Mold Testing is a scam(sorta) but far too many people are wasting their money on un-necessary testing. Mold testing does have it's benefits in certain circumstances but it can be avoided far more than it is.       I see so often where home owners tell me that they paid for a mold test which confirmed the visable mold was mold(well duh!), cleaned the mold, then aren't even sure if the problem that caused the mold had been repaired. 90% of home inspectors reccomend this crazy order of services to be preformed and these services aren't cheap nor always effective. The proper steps in mold detection, treatment and testing are as follows: Scan the home from top to bottom with thermal imaging. Doing...

What you need to know about Ogden Utah Home Inspections Are you worried about buying a new home or property? You should be. Traditional home inspections give you very little value for your dollar. Traditional commercial inspections leave you with a standard checklist and a hefty bill, but little else. If you really want to know the status and quality of a home or building, you need an infrared inspection that can show you the problems that are hidden behind the walls, under the roof, and in the ceilings. If your paying for a non-infrared inspection than your paying for a partial inspection that often leaves you wondering:   Is moisture getting through the foundation? Is the roof leaking? Is there moisture in the attic? Have termites infested the structural beams? Does the home have majo...

If tomorrow all the things were gone, I’d worked for all my life. And I had to start again, with just my children and my wife. I’d thank my lucky stars, to be livin here today. ‘ Cause the flag still stands for freedom, and they can’t take that away. And I’m proud to be an American, where at least I know I’m free. And I wont forget the men who died, who gave that right to me. And I gladly stand up, next to you and defend her still today. ‘ Cause there ain’t no doubt I love this land, God bless the USA. Osama bin Laden, the glowering mastermind behind the Sept. 11, 2001, terror attacks that killed thousands of Americans, was killed in an operation led by the United States. May 1, 2011 will be a day that we as Americans have and will stand United. Former President George W. Bush, who was...

Ogden Utah Roof Leaks Detected During Infrared Home Inspections   Nearly every week I find at-least 1-2 roof leaks while preforming Infrared Home Inspections in the Ogden area. I usually spot roof leaks in the same area which is nearly always around the chimney or plumbing vent pipes. A quality roof shingle can keep the water out for 15-20+ years but the flashing sealants often fail much sooner. Utah roofs get water on them which freezes and expands which can cause sealants to pull away from the flashing or vent pipe boots allowing moisture intrusion. In general, Home Owners should inspect all their sealants and flashing's before the snowy Utah Winter Season comes and soon after it leaves. One of the HUGE BENEFITS of thermal imaging used during a home inspection is the ability to immedi...
