Liberty Park is one of the first parks I visited when moving to Salt Lake City.  At one point I was at this park about 4 times a week riding my skate board around the huge cement path that goes around the entire park.  This place is wonderful and I have highlighted a couple of my favorite things to do at the park. Tracy Aviary  Tracy Aviary became a part of Liberty Park in 1938.  Several world-first breedings occurred here, along with recognition for their part Tracy Aviary played in recovery efforts of the Trumpeter Swan. The Liberty Park Tennis Bubble needs your support.   The bubble is under attack from a neighbor that claims the bubble blocks his/her sight of the mountains.  There will be a meeting of the Historical Landmark Commission on Feb 20th to determine the fate of the tennis bubble. You can come and just show your support or you can participate with a 2 minute statement.  The meeting will be held at the City Building on 4th South and State in room #326. I use the bubble regularly and it is a big part of my lifestyle that makes living in this city so great.  I think it would be tragic to the park and the Liberty Park neighborhood to have the bubble taken down.  If you feel the same, please join me at the meeting.    02/13/2008

The neighborhoods surrounding liberty park are sometimes called the liberty park area.  The park itself is a large park located east of downtown. The liberty park neighborhood is approximately 600 south to 1700 south and state street to 700 east.   There are a lot of bungalows and older Victorians built in the early 1900’s.  In recent years, a lot of the homes have been renovated and the area has experienced significant price appreciation.As of September 2007 (according to the WFRMLS), there are 94 homes on the market.  8 sold in the last 30 days giving the neighborhood an absorption rate of 11.75.  The lowest list price was $99,900 for a cottage and the highest was $439,000 for a renovated Victorian.  The average sales price for the 8 homes sold in the last 30 days was $187,287.
