In continuing with my posts on the great businesses and services in the South Davis County area.  One of those businesses providing a service for dog owners is Utah's Dog Park, they offer sitting service for your K9 friends.  I will be honest, we have not utilized this service, but as a family with a dog, it is something that we may look into at some point. I haven't been doing enough localism posts lately. Today I want to highlight K9 Cuts.  It is where we take our Kobi to get his grooming done.  They are so nice and do such a great job with him.  We signed up for a program which allows for ulimited baths for a monthly fee.  I believe this is at least an interstate if not a National program called Splash and Dash. They were so good, we wanted him to have a bath yesterday, we try to have it done every Friday and they were closed today.  So although the only appointemt available was for 3 PM yesterday,(which didn't work with what we had scheduled), we were told to bring him in at 8 and they would work him in.  Well he was bathed, dried and brushed by 9:30! He really looks great and he loves to go there, which is what we like about it. Here ...

I have mentioned before that we have a lot of great Chinese restaurants here in South Davis County.  So if you're considering a move to the area and like Chinese Food, you're coming to the right place!  Today we are highlighting the Joy Luck Restaurant in Woods Cross.  It is also an excellent choice if you like chinese cuisine. Joy Luck has a great atmosphere they can accommodate large groups, yet still provide an intimate setting.  As I mentioned they have great food.  There is one dish that takes some getting used to, their Lemon Chicken sauce is red.  It is delicious, but my mind kept telling me that I was eating Sweet and Sour, but I was eating Lemon Chicken.  All of the food is very good, we really enjoyed the Tangerine Chicken. I have really been enjoying doing this series of posts.  I have realized just how many great restaurants here in South Davis County we have to enjoy!  I really haven't even scratched the surface, sure we have the well known chains like Applebee's, Chili's, Texas Roadhouse, well you get the picture, I don't wan't to write about them, anyone looking to move to South Davis County already is familiar with these.  I wanted to highlight the great local restaurants, some are chains here in Utah or the region, others are mom and pop restaurants, it is these that I wish to write about. Continuing with this series of things to do and places to eat in South Davis County, I am focusing on Lorena's Mexican Restaurant.  It is located in Woods Cross.  I will admit that Darcy and I are pretty particular when it comes to Mexican cuisine.  I will admit that I like Lorena's a lot more than Darcy does, she prefers the California Mexican cuisine, which I also like.  Lorena's is not that, but it is still good.  I love the tortillas!  They are handmade and thicker than what you would normally find. I have mentioned before that one of the areas in which we work is the Woods Cross, Utah area.  My desire in this blog is to paint an overview of the single family housing real estate market in Woods Cross over the past year. In the past year there have been 140 single family homes sell in Woods Cross.  The lowest price that I found was $100,645, the highest sold price that I found in the past year was $446,556.  The Median Price is $216,000 and the median time that these homes were on the market is an astounding 22 days! Homes in Woods Cross saw prices decrease 4.5% and are currently in the low 200s.  Sold Woods Cross houses went up by more than 50% from 29 to 44.

Sold Price of homes in Woods Cross had steadily increased until just last year.  The number of Woods Cross homes sold on the other hand, has been up and down.  Woods Cross is part of a group of about five other cities in the county that experienced an increase in the number of homes sold last year.

9/11…In Our Hearts Forever   I awoke yesterday on 9/11 with the memory in my heart of what took place 6 years ago.  As with many, my heart still aches of those events that took place.  As I’m driving my children to school they as well take a moment to remember. The radio station I’m listening to plays a beautiful tribute to all of those who were victims in 9/11.
