When I was a kid, growing up in Fairfax City, we had a High's Dairy Store.  It was where, if I was lucky, Dad would drive my little brother and I once a week and we could pick out a half-gallon of ice cream for dessert.  Their ice cream was sooooo good.  And they had so many flavors behind their glass freezer doors.  I loved the chocolate, especially when Dad would make shakes.  No one made a milk shake like Dad! High's (at least in Fairfax City) was gone by the time I was aging in double digits.  It had been bought by an arcade, so a whole slew of other memories from puberty exist there....but when I saw this High's store in Woodbridge, VA yesterday, I couldn't help but smile.  I was happy to see there was still a High's in existence.    04/03/2008
