My mother moved in to the condos of Heritage Hunt in November 2007.  This is her first Spring in her new community.  Last night I met her just before sunset to take a short walk and see some of the sights. Yesterday my family and I met at one of the only open restaurants in Gainesville...The American Tap Room.  It was Easter Sunday, and the idea to eat out was spur of the moment.  The restaurant really wasn't very busy at all.  There were a handful of cars when we pulled up, and a handful when we left.  Our service was so slow, you would've thought they were packed. The food was incredibly bland, however they offer a wide variety of dishes.  At our table we had a chicken cordon bleu sandwich, mini burger and shrimp platter, chicken strips, humus sampler and lasagna.  Like I said, a wide variety...but nothing stood out in terms of taste.  If you are going to eat in the Gainesville area, I would recommend Ruby Tuesday's, Pizzeria Uno or El Tio.  _______ Postscript to this story:  American T... 03/24/2008
