OK, so here is my new proposal to Uncle Sam, in an interest to keep the housing industry on the road to recovery let's provide an $8,000 Federal Housing Tax Credit to sellers! Don't get me wrong, I wasn't thrilled about the idea of the Tax Stimulus when it was introduced. I mean, did we not learn for our past mistakes about lending money to people who cannot afford to buy a home? But since Uncle Sam has decided to intervene on the buyers behalf, I say in for a penny, in for a pound, or in American colloquialism, in for $8,000 dollars. If the $8,000 was incentive to promote home sales and reduce "risk" then why are the buyers getting all the breaks? Let's remember that sellers too have taken a hit and a big one. Great Falls National Park in Great Falls, Virginia has some of the best views in the area.  Rushing rapids are not what typically come to mind when thinking of the Potomac River, but you can see them for yourself here in these photos. Explore the over 800 acres of the park.  Hike, or walk, the numerous trails. Have a picnic with the family. There is also a tour of the Patowmack Canal, which entertwines with our early American history  The rocky slopes are great for the more adventurous at heart.  Get in with an experienced rapelling group and have a once in a lifetime experience.  I did it and couldn't  believe how much fun bouncing down the side of a rocky cliff could be.  And that's saying something coming from me.  I'm afraid of heights. Great Falls, Virginia is home to the much loved Great Falls National Park, a treasure for locals in and visitors to the Washington D.C. area. Why is it that some of the local treasures in one's own backyard never get visited? I've lived in Washington DC for over 35 years and can hardly remember the last time I took the time to visit the museums, or took in the annual beauty of the Cherry Blossom Festival. I have a friend in New York who has yet to visit the Statue of Liberty (which is still on my list as well). Well, we bucked the trend this weekend by taking our out of town friends (the same previously mentioned New Yorkers) to Great Falls National Park in Great Falls, Virginia. As I drive down Rt 7 to hit the Dulles toll rd (Rt 267) I happen to notice a sign that invites me to see the model home for The Marquette built by Keswick homes.
