Though it's been coming down for a few days, I am grateful for the recent rain.  I know rain can affect your mood, especially when it is so gloomy outside. It didn't keep us in on Friday night and we were able to enjoy a great outdoor concert. On Saturday I slogged thru a muddy yard during a home inspection and Yea!, no water issues. I appreciate the vivid green of the trees and how fresh the air smells after a rain. My little dogs love walking no matter what the weather, and though they may come home a bit muddier, I enjoy seeing how happy they are.     Smith Mountain Lake is at full pond now, but  it was just a few years ago that we were in a drought and with so so many areas of our country experiencing severe drought, I will not complain.   The sun will eventually return.       08/10/2014

I enjoy living fulltime at Smith Mountain Lake and was invited to join the Nextdoor.com page for  Mountain View Shores. It's an online social network much like Facebook, but private to our neighborhood. This is a quiet community and Nextdoor been a nice way to get to know our neighbors. You can receive notifications either by email or on your smartphone, and there are apps for android and iPhone. We knew at Halloween which neighbors were offering candy.
