Did the National Do Not Call Registry go away?  Was it dissolved?  Or is it still in effect and the only ones exempt are REALTORS®? I remember when we all seemed to know that it was illegal to call people that had registered their phone numbers. Please let me know what I've been missing.  From what had been reported, in February 2008, it was made official...the names on the list stayed on the list.  There were no expiration dates looming out there threatening to put you back on the "Hey Everyone Hurry Up Call and Sell Anything to Anyone List".  Once you signed up on the Do Not Call list you were there forever.  If you wanted off, you could certainly arrange that, otherwise you did not have to do a thing.  No renewing was necessary.  Or so I thought. Every once in awhile, when reading a ...

Having just finished reading Jason Crouch's post, ActiveRain has helped me to become a local expert! 3 Interesting contacts I received this week from my "hyperlocal" blogging, it reinforced the knowledge that being known as the local expert is a good thing. Even better is the fact that in the process of learning more and more about our local market we do become the local expert.  That is the best part of all. When you really begin to think of all the ways there are to learn and share information, that depicts your local area, you may become overwhelmed.   That is what sometimes happens to me.  Creating a list of all of the neighborhoods (in my case it would be mainly subdivisions), points of interest, upcoming events, historical sites (Central Virginia is awash in Civil War sites and pl...

Spring Creek is no longer Louisa County's best kept secret.  The golf course has been voted the Best New Public Course under $75 in the country by Golf Digest.  Not only does the course play well but it also is in a beautiful setting; according to the digest "nearly every hole is isolated in a dense forest of hardwood trees".  Spriing Creek is located at Zion Crossroads convenient to Charlottesville and Richmond, Virginia.  So if you are looking for something to do today, drive on out and play Spring Creek. After your golf game, don't forget to stay and check out the Spring Creek development.  Spring Creek is a gated community with the award winning golf course at its center.  The community features homes by 6 different builders in destinct neighborhoods with homes ranging from estate ...
