Hey out there , here are some great reasons why it is better to have home ownership versus renting and is 5 reasons. Take a look , it is from the New York Times 8/27/2010   5 Reasons Homeownership Trumps Renting The seemingly endless run of bad housing news is discouraging some potential home buyers from considering a purchase. But the truth is that the advantages of homeownership have very little to do with investment gains. The best things about owning a home have a lot more to do with personal comfort and satisfaction. Here are five of them:· Be your own landlord. The bank can only kick you out if you don't pay; a landlord can be much less dependable - deciding to sell the property or choosing to live there themselves.· Paying the principal is forced savings. Yes, it's possible that h...

If you are out there searching for a house in the Peninsula area and thought it cost for you to have representation, it usually doesn't. The seller of the house pays both sides of the commission, most of the time, except with For Sale By Owners, or FSBOs. I can help you with questions you have about getting prequalified, the home buying process, and help you locate what you are looking for.

One of the great things about living in Hampton Roads is all the cultural opportunities.  Newport News is no exception.  Newport News has arguably one of the best performance venues in Hampton Roads, Virginia, and maybe even the mid-east.  I am speaking about the Ferguson Center at Christopher Newport University.  The auditorium is engineered to be acoustically flawless.  I remember sitting in the back row of the balcony the first season the Ferguson Center was open listening to my favorite tenor, Bocelli.  It sounded as if he was singing directly to me, even on the back row of the balcony.  Since then, I have attended many Virginia Symphony concerts and there is not a bad seat in the house.  If I had my choice in Hampton Roads - the Ferguson Center is the best venue. http://activerain....

After reading numerous posts I had my marketing person develop a community website for Windward Towers in Newport News, Virginia.  It's been live less than a week, but I've had several comments from residents at the towers.  It's all been positive.   I'm anxious to develop a few more this year, and am positive it will help sales, community involvement, and my own SEO too.  www.windwardtowers.com

Condo Living Has its Rewards -- Windward Towers in Newport News -- twin towers built in 1987 - 1990 on the shores of the beautiful James River.  The towers overlook the river and the Leeward Marina.  Every unit has a great view, and all have balconies, some units have two balconies, accept the plaza level, and they enjoy large patios with a view!  The towers each have 17 floors, under ground parking, reserved parking garage space, storage spaces, and lots of amenities.   Windward Towers is a well-kept secret in many way because many of the residents have been in their units since the towers were built.  Now, we have a number of units available and reasonably priced too.   The Towers offers residents a wide variety of amenities including a refreshing in-ground pool, a gym in each buildin...

One of my favorite areas of Newport News is the Noland Trail near the James River.  The Trail is a 5 mile nature trail around Lake Maury with 14 different bridges and is home to lots of wildlife and a variety of plants.  It is truly an oasis in the city.

My short sale in Newport News is finally done.  It has been going on since Feb 2009.  Thank goodness I had a negotiator working the deal for me, Julian Properties.  The first mortgage company was impossible and the second mortgage company was insane.  Once we had approval from them the buyer (only the second one) had to go back through the loan process again as well as another termite inspection.  Then to top it all off we had a water leak in the vacant house.  Everyone stuck with it and made it happen.  The selling agent, Stephanie Hill, was just great.  Without her it may not have gotten done. http://www.geneallen.com Come and see ALL the Homes for Sale in Virginia Beach, Chesapeake, Norfolk, as well as the rest of Hampton Roads.
