Thomas Nelson Community College is coming to Williamsburg, VA.  The college broke ground about a year ago.  This will be one of two campuses in the Hampton Roads area.  The other campus is in Hampton Virginia.  There are classes currently being held in the Busch Corporate Center in Williamsburg Virginia.  The new campus, in Williamsburg Virginia will be the Historic Triangle campus.  It will be a three story, one hundred, twenty thousand square foot building, costing approximately $26.1 million.  About seven thousand students are expected to enroll. As a realtor in Chickahominy Haven I know we all are concerned about our property values and our taxes with James City County.  I wanted to give you some information on the Storm Water Fee that was included on our Real Estate Tax bill due on December 5th.  The Storm Water Division was established this year to ensure that the collection and control of storm water within the county protects the health and welfare of the citizens here. All home owners in JCC are being charged a minimum of $58.80 a year (based on the median square foot home in JCC of 3235 s.f.).  If your home is smaller than that - which most of our homes are - we are still charged the $58.80 a year.  Even if the whole neighborhood paid the minimum Storm Water Fee of $58.80 - Chickahominy Haven is paying the county approxim... 10/26/2007

New Town is right around the corner from my house. I didn't know much about it when i moved in, and what i know now is mostly experiential. I've heard it's a concept that was discussed for a long time in this area and is just now coming together. The sign says "founded 1997," but I can tell you I didn't see a brick there until 2003 or so.  I love the concept and the execution of the open-air collection of residential and retail development. New Town is a major improvement over the alternatives -- an indoor shopping mall, a strip mall or a cluster of big-box stores. I find the architecture of the individual buildings as well as the blended Main Street look appealing.
