Amongst the tall cattails on the Theller Wetland Trails-a questioning bird calls to it's mate. Dressed in black with a wing of red she waits. The waters ripples against the land the grasses sway- still she pauses and then calls to him again. The sun breaks free of the clouds grasp and gleams off of the ponds face. The fish below know and the snail on the leaf can see that all of this... ...is just how it was all meant to be. 04/29/2009

Sometimes it can feel like there are just to many options. Which way do you go? Right, left, up or down. Decisions need to be made. No one wants to make a bad choice and sometimes it is the waiting to make a choice that really lets you down. Just remember to take it one simple step at a time soon you will be in a place where you can clearly see your options and proceed ahead. 04/08/2009

Sometimes it is just a meant to be moment. I was in the car and snapped this picture of an old weathered barn.  The fence rambling on though the landscape as the trees hid their tiny green leaves inside hoping to let them loose soon.The snows had just been by as the mountains in the distance testified. The sky broke through the birds call with a simple blue, and the sun warmed the ice into retreat. Spring will come and the barn will be alive with excitement once again. 04/05/2009

This is a picture from Seattle's Pike Place Market. They have a great selection of local produce, fresh fish and a wonderful array of art, as well as a lot of unique off the wall shops. Eating local from marketplaces such as these can be a lot of fun. They offer such a variety that you can be very creative when designing a menu and you may even find an opportunity to try something you have never had before. Another benefit to shopping at a local market- such as a farmers market is the amount of time your food travels to get to the location. Some grocery stores have produce that is shipped anywhere from 1,200 to 2,500 miles before it reaches you. While some chains pride themselves on shopping with the local farmers, not all of them subscribe to this idea. How far do you like your food t... 02/07/2009
