I had a real treat this morning with coworker and good friend Jill Bell. We met with Gary Wagner and crew to give a presentation about our #mobilecomcamp social media class coming up at #WestfieldSC later this month.I haven’t seen Gary for years. I remember meeting him when I first started in the title industry back in 1984. He lives and works in Kent, Washington and their family owned real estate company is one of the oldest independents in the area. One delightful surprise today was Gary shares a passion with me for old maps. He has several in his office and this one in the photo dates back to circa 1895. I cracked up after Jill and I left. When I looked at my camera roll I discovered the map unintentionally turned out to be a selfie. The map is framed and behind glass and I was caught...

I was in Federal Way Wednesday morning shooting some video at our branch and having a great deal of fun. It was all about the #SEAHAWKS today! We were creating a 'team spirit' funny video, then off to our Kent Branch, just across the valley. So arriving in Kent (long story short) this gal in her great big high riding 3/4 ton super customized pickup truck with oversized tires and one of those big ol' custom made wraparound the front end tube bumpers tries to pull through an empty parking stall and hooks the front bumper of this car and totally rips the front end off! As the story unfolded the driver of said big bad oversized truck made every attempt to document it, did not flee the scene, took photos, and went through the building to find the car owner... No luck. It sat this way all day...

Tuesday I had appointments in Seattle, then a quick trip across the lake to the Eastside and back to Renton. It was one of those typical winter days in the Pacific Northwest when the rain really pours all day long. I'm headed down Benson on Easthill Kent for my office in the afternoon listening to NPR and thinking, "When the rains come, they run and hide their heads." That was 1966 when The Beatles released Paperback Writer and on the flipside, Rain. These two songs had a big impact on my musical direction. They were no longer the 4 young Lads singing cute songs like, "I want to hold your hand." They both had grit and bite, droning harmonies, irony with a sardonic grin, and insight with attitude. Kinda like the weather does today. Ringo said years after The Beatles, that he thought Rain...

Autumn Leaves, After the Storm... I was thinking how funny it is that last week I was in Orting on a beautiful warm autumn afternoon taking photos of Mt. Rainier, Halloween pumpkins and pink haystack piggys between visits with clients and today I turned on the heat for the first time to take the damp chill out of the air in my condo. I’m such a fan of the seasons, all of them, and I’m no wimp when it comes to cooler temperatures. I say frugal perhaps to a fault, that’s my upbringing and I wanted to put off that turning on the heat as long as possible. "Where’s my old comfy sweater I put away late last spring?" Last weekend we had quite a storm blow through the area. It was our annual and typical autumn blast with lots of power outages as we pass the equinox. Our reminder, yes we’re head...

Thursday, my friend and coworker Rachel was gifted an iPhone. The only downside was it was wrapped in a big old piece of clear packing tape to keep the cracked screen together and attached. While we were talking about it I jumped online and Googled for iPhone repairs and found iCracked.com. I noticed there were reviews on Yelp.com so I headed over to check them out. Hey Rachel, “this looks pretty cool.” Try this website, or here’s the phone number, give them a call. They have a location in Renton. Rachel calls iCracked and within a few minutes she has a quote, they're sending a tech out to repair the phone on site, and how about tomorrow, does that work for you? We’re laughing, "Now this is what I call WOW service!" But wait there’s more! About an hour later Rachel say’s, OMG! My fiance...

Today it’s definitely Fall and our lingering summer weather said goodbye. I’m headed home this evening up Benson Highway after work. Little did I know there was a fun little surprise waiting. Traffic was really heavy this evening and it took about 3 lights to get to the intersection of SE 240th, but I wasn't complaining. It was unavoidable not to see the road side marketing going on. This young lady must be on a drill team or in gymnastics. She was so much fun, very engaging, and put on a wonderful spirited performance for us all. Halloween is one of my favorite unofficial holidays. Such fun getting all dressed up and pretending to be somebody else. Who say's the Friday evening commute can't be fun?
