Keller Williams had a vendors tent at the Lake Stevens Aquafest this year. I volunteered to make rootbeer floats for the guests, but there was alcohol being served also. Of course most of the adults went for the beer and wine. Since it was so hot that day, I thought that I would be serving mostly children, while the adults drank water to hydrate themselves. Instead, the other volunteers and I stayed busy throughout the afternoon. I spent three and half hours there serving guests and it was a lot of  fun. Being a former Marine, I try to keep my military families informed as to what is going on in the real estate market. The home buyers tax credit has been extended to 2011 for some military personnel. If you are a service member that has been on official duty outside the United States for more than 90 days between Dec 31, 2008 & May 31, 2010, you may qualify for the first time buyers tax credit. The home buyers tax credit has been extended for one year.  You can qualify for up to 8,000 for a first time buyer and 6,500 for a move up buyer.  To qualify, you have to have an accepted contract by April 30, 2011 and close before June 30, 2011. We had a very powerful wind storm today that knocked down some trees and debris. It also knocked out my electricity for a little while yesterday afternoon. Although, I am not a Washingtonian by birth. I have had the opportunity of living here for almost six  years. I am orignally from the East Coast. Snow is not new to me but I am a little confused as to what type of weather this state has to offer besided the rain during the winter. During my six years of living here I've encounter a few years of some very bizarre weather. Last year, it snowed in April. As a real estate professional, in my opinion, my answer would be definitely. Yes!!! The reason I've come to this conclusion is the interest rates are considerably lower than they have been in years. The second reason is that you can get that dream home at a much cheaper price than you will be able to in a few years from now. The third reason is the inventory for homes in our area is good. The fourth reason is the first time home buyers tax credit has been extended to April and it includes present homers that meet certain criteria. The price of your dream is well below values of two years ago. We have been on a 1 to 2 percent decrease in market values in our area for the last year depending upon your area.
