If you want a good sense of community, like to walk or bike ride to services, or need a quick commute to Seattle, Harbour Pointe Village is the neighborhood for you.                  Located in the city of Mukilteo, it is a short drive to the Whidbey Island ferry terminal where you will be whisked away to Clinton on Whidbey Island.  Parts of the neighborhood line the fairways of Harbour Pointe Golf Club adding a bit of a country club feeling to those fortunate enough be adjacent to the course.  There are only two street entrances to Harbour Pointe Village making this neighborhood an almost enclosed community.  There is very little traffic in here because it is primarily residents travelling thru Harbour Pointe Village.  School age residents will attend Mukilteo School district learning ...

Mukilteo is more than a place to catch the ferry to Whidbey Island, it's also a fantastic community in which to work and live.  Recently voted "Seattle's Best Affordable Suburb," Mukilteo features still-affordable housing as compared to comparable neighborhoods, an award-winning school district, and stunning natural beauty.  With convenient access to I-5 and 405, Mukilteo is also extremely convenient to Seattle and the Eastside, as well as major employers such as Boeing and Fluke located less than 10 minutes away.Mukilteo, which means "good camping ground" in a local native american dialect, is divided into two distinct areas: historic Old Town, and the newer, master-planned community of Harbour Pointe.  The areas two areas offer distinct lifestyles.  Harbour Pointe features one of the ...

New Urbanism is a movement that is permeating Snohomish County, especially Mukilteo and Everett.  "Village Center" development is one of the first created in Mukilteo. Combining housing, retail shops and condominiums.  The heart of the development has a publc plaza with outdoor dinng, benches and a grassy park area. The village encourages walking by using narrower streets and larger walkways and paths.  People can now live and work in their neighborhoods. Read more here.In Everett city officials are working with a California company to develop 216 acres along the banks of the Snohomish River into an upscale development. Read my previous blog about this exciting adventure.Perhaps this is a way to stop traffic jams, keep housing affordable and yet offer quality of life.

Mukilteo Washington is one of Snohomish County's best places to live for multiple reasons. It is home to some of the best views in Washington, it offers a vibrant downtown and it just plain fun to visit. The town is home to one some of the states largets ferry commuter and travel destinations and it easy to see why. Known as a lighthouse community, Mukilteo commemorates its heritage with an annual Light Celebration and this year marked the 100th year of the festival. Keeping true to tradition, it is easy to see why people are so drawn to this area. From the docks a person can see the ferry system at work, view epic views of the Puget Sound and get a first hand glimpse of the clarity in Washington's water. I recommend anyone to visit Mukilteo and make their first stop at Ivars. They offe...
