One of the things I absolutely LOVE about living here on the Kitsap Peninsula in WA State, is being part of a very large military community. We are honored to have several strategic base installations here in the Western Puget Sound - Bangor Sub Base, Puget Sound Naval Shipyard, Naval Undersea Warfare Center Keyport, and others. As a Veteran and former Navy submarine sailor, I'm an avid supporter of our active-duty service members and their devoted families. I'm a sucker for those YouTube videos that show Moms and Dads surprising their kids by coming home unexpectedly! This morning, while I was out watering some newly planted flowers on our patio, I heard 'Reveille' being played over on Bangor Sub Base. Now, we live over in Poulsbo, across the waters of Liberty Bay, but you can still hear...

Well, the insanity of the VA appraisal process rears it's ugly head yet again! I swear, one has to be either bi-polar or severely schizophrenic in order to survive in this business! I have a perfectly good transaction in process. A motivated Seller and an equally motivated Buyer. Both want to close before Christmas. Both parties have done an amazing job up to this point navigating towards what we all hoped would be a successful closing, and onto the next adventure in their lives. Enter the VA appraiser. According to the lender, we didn't come in at value. Not that we would know for sure, mind you. We aren't allowed access to actually 'see' the report. The appraiser cannot share what comps he used to arrive at his price point, or how much of a disparity there is in appraised value vs. sa...

Poulsbo Place is the award winning, master-planned community in the heart of the famed waterfront village of Poulsbo, Washington. Designed in traditional Craftsman style, the architecture compliments the picturesque community of 'Little Norway' with its rich Scandinavian heritage. Poulsbo Place is situated near the waters of Liberty Bay, a popular destination for area boaters and tourists, and is only a short walking distance to a wide variety of restaurants, bakeries, antique shops, clothing boutiques, book stores and gift shops. As a licensed professional real estate broker, I view a lot of properties throughout Kitsap County, and into portions of Pierce, Mason, and Jefferson Counties, as well. Every once in a while, you come across a home that really stands out from the rest - one wh...
