I headed up to the Eastlake neighborhood in Seattle the evening of July 4th to watch the fireworks on Lake Union. We have an escrow branch there with a fabulous view of the Seattle Skyline (from the north), the Space Needle, and look west over Lake Union at Queen Anne Hill, the Aurora Bridge, and on clear days we enjoy views of the magnificent Olympic Mountains on the peninsula. The sky was overcast, but fortunately the cloud cover was high. For me, the weather was perfect, just a gentle breeze from the west and a comfortable cool. This is just a share, no big production. I shot it with my iPhone 6 Plus and was surprised how well it did at night with bright rockets a glare. Night is usually a good recipe for fuzzy. Also, no additional apps or fancy editing. I just put a couple of clips t...

The Burned Seattle Floating Home on the 2017 dock...Is it for sale?  No. Seattle houseboats aren't always affordable up front, and although the cost of living on one after purchase is substantially less than a similar land home, houseboat buyers are looking for more affordable and creative options.  I can't fault them there.Take the 2017 Fairview Ave E Dock - One of the three Log Foundation docks. For years there has been a burned out shell of a floating home looking abandoned and derelict.  Molly and I have been asked the question at least once a month for years and years:  "What about that burned out floating home in Eastlake? " with follow up comments like "I bet that's affordable!"  Aerial images courtesy of Google Maps. The thing is, the slip alone that the burned out shell of a ho...

One of the things I really enjoy about my work is the people! And I love the fact I’m out and about and we’re always up to something creative and interesting. I love brainstorming about marketing in the here and now with my coworkers and clients. Some of the best times ever have been meetings at coffee shops and cafes. A morning get together over a good cup of Joe is one of my favorites. I like the social setting. For me it’s the perfect place to talk about online marketing concepts and social media strategies.  As much as I am a total nerd student about technology and the way of the life online, I have a longtime old school habit. I doodle... My brain simply works better when I make sketches of our conversation.  So when I’m out the door in the morning I load up my Explorer including my...
