Recently, I had the wind just about taken out of my sails. I was talking to a Broker that was whining about having to present an offer. After four or five minutes of listening to him I just could not help but look at him and say "Are you nuts?". The guy has not had a closing in over a month and a half, maybe more, and it was taking away from nothing. I began to think about the commitment I have to this business. We seriously do have to make hay while the sun shines! I hope I never get to the point where I say such a thing. I can see the need for down time, and quiet time, but what happens when the individual gets busy. It is going to be chaos. Every once in a while I get a sign from above to become more linear, and take a step back and be grateful for the ability to do what I do. I love...

Vinegar is the unsung hero of   "AUTOMOTIVE" Because white distilled vinegar has so many wonderful uses as a cleaning agent, it’s no surprise that it is also perfect to use on some of your bigger cleaning projects—namely automobiles. The next time you’re washing your car, shift into high gear and really make it shine with a little vinegar. Keep car windows frost-free overnight in winter by coating them with a solution of 3 parts white distilled vinegar to 1 part water. Polish car chrome with full-strength white distilled vinegar on a soft cloth. Remove unwanted decals and bumper stickers by covering them with a cloth soaked in white distilled vinegar, or by repeatedly spraying them with full-strength white distilled vinegar. They should peel off in a couple of hours. Rid the windshield ...

Since we here in the states have to make every little holiday or day of importance an occasion to drink, what better excuse to down some delicious beer than to celebrate  National Beer Day on April 7th   In 1933 during the prohibition era, the Cullen-Harrison Act was signed into law by President Franklin Roosevelt on March 23rd. That law was enacted on April 7th allowing the brewing and sale of beer in the United States again as long as it was < 3.2% (4% ABV). It's said that people waited in line overnight on April 6th outside Milwaukee breweries in order to legally buy beer for the first time in over 13 years. (liquor manufacturing and sales were still outlawed).   Though the beer they enjoyed 78 years ago wasn’t anything like the 7%+ ABV craft beers that many of us are enjoying to...

Vinegar is the unsung hero of   "GARDEN"   White distilled vinegar provides many safe and natural ways to protect and enhance your garden and gardening tools. Not only will you feel good about keeping children and pets (and you!) away from pesticides and other chemicals, you’ll feel great about the low cost of vinegar compared to those other products. Kill weeds and grass growing in unwanted places by pouring full-strength white distilled vinegar on them. This works especially well in crevices and cracks of walkways and driveways. Give acid-loving plants like azaleas, rhododendrons, hydrangeas and gardenias a little help by watering them with a white distilled vinegar solution now and again. A cup of white distilled vinegar to a gallon of tap water is a good mixture. Stop ants from cong...

The American Dream - Home Ownership There is a growing number of people debating whether the government should continue its level of support for homeownership. Mortgage assistance is being pulled back and even the mortgage-tax-deduction is now up for debate. We want to look at how the people of this country view owning a home and the reasons they buy. Last week, Fannie Mae released the National Housing Survey. Here are the survey’s more interesting findings. Belief in Homeownership 96% of all homeowners said homeownership has been a positive experience. 84% of Americans still believe that owning a home makes more sense than renting. Even 68% of renters believe owning makes more sense. 64% consider buying a home as a safe investment. Buying a home was considered safer than buying stocks ...

Tips to Lower your Utility/Energy Bill and put money in YOUR pocket Tips to Lower your Utility/Energy Bill 1. Adjust your thermostat.  As a rule of thumb, every degree you lower a thermostat's set temperature in the winter or raise it in the summer will save 1% of energy costs over an 8 hour period. Wisconsin weather is calling for thermostats to be turned on soon.... so lower your thermostat at night and use extra blankets on your bed. Not home during the day? Then adjust accordingly. 2.  Turn down the water heater temperature to a maximum 120 degrees.  Lower it to 80 degrees if you are going to be away from home for more than a couple days.  If you have a gas water heater, this tactic will save you gas, not electricity. 3. The refrigerator is one of the biggest energy users in the hom...
