Money Magazine Just listed New Berlin, WI as No. 34 of the best small towns to live in in the Whole country...we aren't surprised....we did our home work before we elected to build here...it's an outstanding location...great park system....a small town feel but close to the "big city" and everything you need to have the best of all world's...it's a little bit country....and a great place to live. At just 50 years old....New Berlin is a Babe in terms of suburb age.   Residents are tight knit, joining together for holiday parades and youth sporting events. A highly organized parks and forestry department is one of the hallmarks of this town. There were 43 sales in June 2009 with an average sold price of $196,939 and a list to sales ratio of 95.78%.  There are currenlty 22 accepted offers with future closing dates.  In june 2009 there a total of 43 proeprties sold which is 8 fewer than in june 2008.  June 2009 had 5 fewer new listings than in june 2008. There are currently 343 listed properties with an average list price of $277,558 and have been on the market 137 days.   The most sales were in the $225,000-$250,000 Range. 07/02/2009

Recently I was talking to a friend and fellow Wisconsin bee keeper that was going out to check his colonies after torrential rains, and also to see if any animals had gotten into any of the colonies. The beauty of bee keeping is that you can do it anywhere. For the most part I see a lot of bee colonies in large open fields and forests. Very pretty sight indeed. I do know one thing; honey does catch more flies than vinegar. In the Waukesha County real estate market things are heating up. There were 38 proepties sold with an average sold price of $216,623 with an average 95.27% list to sales ratio and 82 days on the market.  In addition, there are 28 accepted offers with an average list price of $257,657 with an average days on the market of 93 days. In comparision to last year, there were 16 less sales or 31.4% reduction. There was also a reduction of new listings compared to last year by 13 listings or a reduction of 14.3%.     When we decided to build the house  of our dreams in southeastern Wisconsin we went on a mission...we research every major decision from where we go on vacation, the car we buy, our investments, etc, and certainly choosing a community...a neighborhood....a lot...was no different.     Initially, my husband would have opted for a community farther west....Delafield, Pewaukee...     Waukesha County is dotted with lots of little "burgs" that have their own personalities and local flavors.    Every year, the Mayor of New Berlin, WI asks residents to nominate someone for Citizen of the Year.
