Well, here we are the 8th of December and we're getting more snow!  I've heard so many people over the last week or so comment about how they are tired of the snow already.  I guess I'd have to say that I'm probably in the minority and love the snow.  Yeah, last year I started to get a bit tired of the snow toward the end of the season, but I was hoping to break the snowfall record (we were so close, we might as well have broken it)!  Personally, I'd rather have the snow than super cold temperatures.  Hopefully, after this next storm the temps won't drop to sub-zero.  The teachers at our kids' school are hoping for a snow day tomorrow - one of them said she had a lot to get done at home.  I know my kids are hoping for one too. The Richfield Village Board is going to be considering a request for annexation this Thursday from the property owners of a 46-acre area currently in the Town of Polk.  The Town of Polk recently denied the request from the owners for the Town to maintain the private road serving the businesses.  Richfield Administrator Toby Cotter reported that the fair market value of the business park properties is about $13.8 million.  If approved, Richfield will pay Polk a little over $10,000 for each of the next five year as compensation.  In return, Cotter estimates that Richfield will received approximately $21,000 in tax revenue.  Richfield will also then be responsible for maintenance of the road.  You can read the entire article on the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel website at: http://www.jsonline... 11/18/2008

Important meets in being held in Richfield Wisconsin in regards the the village incorporation.First meeting is being held on Monday October 15 from 12 to 5 PMSecond meeting is Thursday November 1 from 2 to 7 pm.Referendum vote will take place on November 6th 2007Meetings will be held at the Town Hall. The state of Wisconsin has approved Richfield's petition for village incorporation.  Incorporation information will be in the lower level of the town hall building. Everyone interested in having questions answered, staff will be available to answer any questions or concerns.  Absentee ballots for voting will be available from October 8th to November 5th from 8 am until 3:30 pm. I wanted to share what Richfield in like in the fall of the year. This year was been unusually warm. It was in the 80's this week-end.   I run into a Harley Club from Cedarburg Wisconsin enjoying the great day and out for a ride. they were lined up on both sides of the street in Richfield Wisconsin. The one that were not riding their bikes were driving around in the car looking at the trees. Nothing like fall in Wisconsin.This picture was taken by Amy Belle School. What a view the kids see while they are playing outside. No one like to miss Basse's Taste of country. They have even add pony rides and a train to boot. Loads of fun and don't miss the corn maze. Richfield Historical Society held it's 9th annual Thresheree Sept 15 and 16th. It was a blast. Many people attended the event. There was plenty of food to eat along with much to see. Entering the area you come across the great old building that is being restored. There was a young lady showing how cloths were washed back in the day. Many gathered around to talk with the people that were showing differ times in Wisconsin. Remembering in there mind when life might have been a little easier in some ways. But dealing with the elements of weather, making food and getting food was harder. many enjoyed looking at the old cars and tractors from years gone by. One of our local trappers was showing his wears. He had fox and rabbits and much more. Richfield a very peaceful place to live offer time... 09/16/2007
