The Winter Music Festival will be January 28th in downtown Lewisburg. First, I wanted to provide readers some background on this Winter Music Festival.   In 2013, Lewisburg and Greenbrier Valley, West Virginia area musicians organized a fundraiser to benefit a fellow musician who had experienced a house fire resulting in total loss of his family’s home and possessions. The collaborative event was so successful in drawing upon the community's support, that the desire to bring the community together to assist with such unfortunate situations grew into an annual event. The event became known as the Greenbrier Valley Winter Music Festival. The musicians that organized the first event went on to established the West Virginia Winter Music Festival Inc., in the Fall of 2015, as a way to perp...

While attending the Shanghai Parade on January 1, 2017, in Lewisburg WV, I  stopped by my REMAX office.  In our office window was an Australia Shepherd watching the people and the parade. I hurried and snapped some photos of this dog in the window.  No, it isn't my dog Zeke, although he was with me. The dog in the window is Sheila, an Australia shepherd,  and belongs to Paula Lueske. Seems Sheila wants to be inside away from all the noise.  So, the answer to the question How Much is That Doggie in the Window?  Sorry, she's not for sale!    Stop in at our REMAX office and let us assist you in your home search.  REMAX is a pet-friendly office!  REMAX Vision Quest is located at 1034 E. Washington Street, Lewisburg, West Virginia.

On January 1, the Shanghai Parade in historic Lewisburg, WV. is the first parade of the season that has been going on since the Civil War.This is a 150-year tradition when anyone can enter the parade and dress up in their own wacky costume and walk with many others in this unique, extemporaneous parade.  It was a sunny and warm day for a parade with temps in the mid 40s.  This annual New Year's Day parade featured colorful costumes and creative participants.  The streets were lined with families and friends enjoying a fun parade.  In previous years our fire chief, Wayne Pennington had dressed as the New Year's Baby for 20 years and has walked in the parade in sub-zero weather.            This year, our mayor John Manchester, dressed as the New Year's Baby. Lucky for him it was 45 degre...

This photo is from my listing located on Fairview Road in Lewisburg, West Virginia.  The owner/seller is a friend and invited my husband and I to a dinner party.  It's true.  Everyone congregated in the kitchen.  What I love about the interior of this house is the open floor plan, plus the large kitchen (16x18).  The best feature of the kitchen is the L-shaped exotic cosmic black granite countertops and the base a beautiful Tuscany porcelain tile.  The countertops and base are so sleek and unique.  They make the kitchen pop! This is my entry for Dick Greenberg's Photography Contest, Real Estate Interior Photo. I used my Samsung Android S5 Phoneto capture this image. I used my Android phone camera, of course. I did have a Nikon camera and when it stopped working, I never replaced it I j...

My neighborhood does not have any haunted houses for Halloween. We do a lot of outdoor Halloween decorations but not really spooky ones. Except for my neighbor up the street from my house. He has the best and scariest pumpkin character on the top of his roof. This photo was taken around 6 pm. He is one scary dude!  At night, the pumpkin character really lights up!  The kids will definitely be afraid to walk up to the door of this house..... then again, maybe not! This may be the favorite Haunt in the Greenbrier Pines Subdivision,  This post is written for Kimo Stowell ’s Halloween Post Contest.

The Greenbrier Valley Board of Realtor's 6th Annual Feed the Feed Community Food Drive has begun! The Board’s Feed the Need Campaign started on Saturday, October 22. Julie Delorenzo and Rebecca Gaujot with REMAX Vision Quest, volunteered to work the table at Kroger's in Ronceverte collecting non-perishable food items and cash donations.  It was a huge success considering the cold temps and high winds.  We collected $300 cash donations and 202 non-perishable food items from 11am - 2pm.   After standing and talking all day, seeing the children wanting to give food to help Feed the Need was very heart warming.  The Greenbrier Valley Board of Realtor's Feed the Need Campaign ends the first week in December.  All proceeds will go to the local food pantries.

Carnegie Hall presents "You Belong To Me" for "On Screen/In Person" film series at 7 p.m. (informal reception at 6:30 p.m.) on Friday, October 21, 2016.    "You Belong To Me" is a compelling documentary that revisits the 1952 murder case in which Ruby McCollum, a black woman, fatally shot a white doctor, state Senator-elect Clifford Leroy Adams, in Florida. The film compiles research and interviews about the murder and subsequent court trial of Ruby McCollum in which she testified that Adams, the son of a powerful political family, had forced her into a long sexual relationship that resulted in an unwanted child, and that she shot him in self-defense. The slaying and ultimate trial stirred race relations in the southern town, and brought to light a left over legacy from the slavery er...

Rob Atha of Elevated Media has filmed videos of two of my properties. I do believe that using video as an Internet Marketing tool helps sell real estate. I have created my own videos but find Rob's professional videography is really so much better. Rob offers a one of a kind cinematic experience of the home or property you are selling. The videos are excellent quality. Today was video day work. I met Rob at 10am this morning to start filming three videos.  We went to Renick, White Sulphur Springs and Caldwell.  I will be posting the videos next week. I left  Rob at the top of The Retreat in Caldwell around 3:30pm. Below are some photos I captured of Rob Atha and his drone before going to another appointment. Besides real estate videography, Rob also does commercial drone applications,s...
