Greenbrier Valley Theatre, the State Professional Theatre of West Virginia, proudly presents Tim Rice and Andrew Lloyd Webber’s Jesus Christ Superstar.  I saw this performance twice at the Kennedy Center in Washington DC.  It is a fantastic show  and one you will not want to miss.    This powerful rock opera tells the story of Jesus and his followers in a way the Gospels never did. Seen through the eyes of Judas Iscariot, the last days of Jesus of Nazareth come alive through the magic of splendid, haunting 1970s-style rock music. Dates:  May 13 & 14, 19-21, 25-28 and June 1-4Time:    7:30 p.m. There will be a Pay-What-You-Can Preview performance on May 12 at 7:30 p.m. and a matinee performance May 21 at 2:30 p.m. Tickets:   $30 for general admission, $27 for seniors (60+) and $20 for c...

Greenbrier Pines is a quiet residential community, located less than 1.5 miles from downtown Lewisburg, WV.  Here you will find shopping, fine dining, and a busy year-round calendar of community events, concerts and live theatre. Increasingly popular as a tourist destination and a place to live, Lewisburg is often cited as one of America's best small towns.   I live in this beautiful, friendly community, Greenbrier Pines, where the sound of laughter from children playing in the streets, and seeing and talking with neighbors out jogging or walking their dogs is an everyday occurence. The nice thing about Greenbrier Pines is there are no through-streets. There are only two paved roads within the community, Old White Drive and Via Largo. Greenbrier Pines is a community of single family, c...

Yes it was a cold, windy and snowy day for the Lewisburg 10th Annual Chocolate Festival.  I talked to one shop owner and she said no matter the weather people come out for this annual event....sunshine, rain or snow .... they come for their chocolate high.I enjoyed walking the streets and stopping in the shops for a taste of chocolate. Some chocolate events were chef demonstrations, kids activities, chocolate bake off, and a chocolate mousse eating contest.  Below are some photos of the event.    Kids games were inside because of the cold weather! Even though it was a cold, windy and snowy day, everyone seemed to enjoy being out, meeting friends and nei...

This week we have seen the temperature drop from 60s down to the 20s in some areas.  It has been in the 20s and 30s then up to the high 40s this week.  Thursday, April 7, 2016, it snowed some.  Then the weather changed.  It would rain buckets, then it would hail, and then the sun would come out. This happened twice, and the rain came down fast and hard as did the hail.  Some strange weather we are having here in Lewisburg WV.  What's the weather like in your area?   Below is a short video of the hail, it didn't last long, and then the sun would come out.   P.S.
