Is ActiveRain Part Of Your Daily Routine? I spent years in the rain, then took a multiple year "break". Been back a couple of months, and the daily process of blogging is fun. Not sure if this is still a thing, but waaaaay back you were limited to 10 blog posts a week. Upon returning I set my goal of ten per week. Most weeks I hit the mark, but it can be a struggle. How are you using the platform in the following ways??1) Number of blog posts per week 2) Do you comment on other posts? If so, how many per day? 3) As a resource to find the answer to a real estate question (big time back in the day). 4) Finding referral agents5) Members only verses "public" posts6)...Glad to be back in the rain! Can't wait to read your replies! What would be your "6"?

Destin Florida Real Estate-Should I Wait Until Next Year To ListHas the time come to sell your Destin Florida area property? Perhaps the money invested locally can do more for you in another market? Regardless of the reason for selling, when is the best time to list your Emerald Coast area home for sale? Let's examine some factors that can influence your timing. 1) Is the home your primary residence or an investment property-- There are investors RIGHT NOW seeking properties to close on prior to the end of the year. Usually motivated by tax purposes, these buyers need to close prior to December 31. Listing next spring will miss this entire class of buyer. For primary homes, some sellers do not want showings during the holidays. 2) Have you identified "the next" real estate deal-- If so,...

Good morning and hello there again. Wanted to share:  Whether you are currently serving, are a veteran, were a veteran, have a family member who is a veteran, or know of someone that is a veteran:  HAPPY VETERANS DAY.  Thank you and me we remember and appreciate all their sacrifices.   To those who have served or are actively serving in our military, we appreciate your bravery and sacrifice. Veteran's Day is a day to honor all American veterans from all wars including WWI, WWll, and beyond. This Veteran's Day meet Vesta Stoudt, the determined woman who invented duct tape. Below, I share an article written by Emma Steven on February 08, 2018 telling Vesta Stoudt's duct tape invention."The iconic tape was invented by an Illinois mom named Vesta Stoudt who wanted to save soldiers’ lives in World War II. The year was 1943 and Stoudt, who had two sons serving in the U.S. Navy, was working at the Green River Ordnance Plant near Amboy, Illinois. “She noticed that the boxes of ammunition she was packing and inspecting had a flaw,” explains Margaret Gurowitz, Johnson & Johnson’s Chief Historian. “They were sealed with paper tape, with a tab to open them. Workers then dipped the enti...

Happy Veteran's Day! Here's to wishing everyone who has or is putting on the uniform and protecting our country a Happy Day. Literally everything we do is possible as a result of your service. There are many stores and restaurants in greater Destin Florida offering discounts this week, by all means check them out! The photos are from the Air Force Armament Museum located near Eglin AFB. THANK YOU to our Veterans of the Armed Forces here in the USA.Veterans Day began at the end of fighting in World War I, when an armistice (which is a temporary stop to fighting) went into effect on the eleventh hour of the eleventh day of the eleventh month. (11/11 at 11am.)In 1938, An Act made November 11th each year a legal holiday. At the time, it was designated to be a day dedicated to world peace, and was given the name of “Armistice Day.”Then, in 1954, World War II required the greatest mobilization of Armed Forces in U.S. History, the Act of 1938 was amended to change the word “Armistice” to “Veterans,”  officially making November 11th a day to honor American Veterans of all wars.Below, please find a short video from the History Channel sharing the history behind Veterans Day.I f...

Today is Veteran’s Day.  Many know that WWI ended at the 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month in 1918. Also, this day was originally called Armistice Day by President Woodrow Wilson.  President Eisenhower, a Veteran of WWII, on October 8, 1954 issued the first Veteran’s Day Proclamation which established the holiday for the proper observance the day demanded. Many Baby boomers had family members that fought in WWII. For myself, this included my father, my uncle and my grandfather. Then the Korea War followed by Vietnam.  My husband is a veteran of that conflict and served a year in Vietnam. Since then, we continue to put our men and women in harm’s way.Military service to one’s country is a huge commitment of grit and gratitude. Even in times of peace, these men and women may be c...

During my seven years here on Active Rain, I have been blessed with friends I have met as well as friends I have yet to me. This past weekend I had the opportunity to break bread with Carol Williams  who was on her way south to her winter hideaway. As Carol is so much fun, I invited another REALTOR® good friend, Brenda Curwick, to join us for dinner. Of course dinner was at Red Cellar & Bistro.Between the great customer service, excellent food and adult libations, the conversation flowed. Yes, there was some real estate sharing, however most of it was just girl talk.I am so grateful that Carol included me in her southward trip. This was the second time we have met in person. If you have a chance, meeting Carol is indeed a blessing. She is so full of life and will tickle your funny bone.T...

Before spending $1 on any marketing campaign or website buildout most companies fail to do proper research into their end user with no gap analysis for missed opportunities.  Knowing how big your market is and whether you are on the upside or the tail end of one is crucial. This is probably the most important metric you must know at all times. If you're comfortable and passively reacting to market shifts as they happen without some forecasting, you're bound the be left in the dust.  The Untold Potential of the Mustang: A Missed OpportunityLet me tell you a story about Lee Iacocca. He was the president of Ford in the early 1960s. At that time, Detroit was building these monster cars with fins, which we affectionately called "LEAD sleds." However, Iacocca said to his marketing team, "I thi...

Veterans Day is an annual State and Federal holiday for military veterans celebrated on 11th day of November. This year we celebrate Veteran Day on Monday November 11, 2024.During May of 1938, a Congressional Act approved November 11th of each year as a legal holiday, a day to be dedicated to the cause of world peace and to be celebrated and known as "Armistice Day".A man known only as Raymond Weeks of Birmingham, Alabama had the idea to expand Armistice Day to celebrate all veterans, not just those who died in World War I. In 1954, President Dwight D. Eisenhower signed a Bill that Armistice Day was to celebrate all veterans. Congress amended the Bill on June 1, 1952, replacing “Armistice” with “Veterans” and it has been known as Veterans Day ever since.Veterans Day Quotes:Sometimes att...

Remembering Our Heroes - Celebrating Veterans with Heartfelt Gratitude 🇺🇸It’s 11/11, my ActiveRain friends and family. Happy Veterans Day! Today, let’s take a moment to honor a cause so very close to my heart: celebrating the brave men and women who have served our country with courage and dedication and those who continue to do so today. Our veterans are more than just soldiers; they are our nation’s true heroes. With deep gratitude, I thank them for their service—past and present—which has strengthened our country and preserved the freedoms we hold dear. Let’s also remember the families standing behind these heroes. Spouses, children and parents have faced long absences and shouldered immense responsibilities at home, giving their own form of sacrifice and support. Today, we honor thes...

Appreciating all the Veterans not just on Veterans Day, but everyday should be the goal of every American. The best way to do this, is by not to confusing it with Memorial Day.Since, Veterans Day is dedicated to all American veteran not just to those who served in wars. I find it annoying when people confuse the two dates.Just to clarify Veterans Day will happen on Monday, November 11th. How fascinating that in 1918, on the 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month an armistice was declared between the Allies and Germany basically ending World War I.In 1938 November 11th became a federal holiday. After World War II and the Korean War Armistice Day became better known as Veterans Day.Often, I get asked what is the best way to thank a Veteran? Well, my take is to:       Fly the American...

Today is Veterans Day 2024, A Day To Honor Our Veterans, and our Men and Women who are serving in our Armed Forces.I hope that everyone takes a moment out of there day to say thank you to either a Veteran they know, or one of the Men and Women presently serving.  It only takes a minute to do this, but the impact and meaning it has on the one you say thank you to is greater than you can imagine. Those who have served our country did so willingly and without expectation of anything in return.  They did it for the honor of serving the land of opportunity, and to secure the freedoms we enjoy. Many restaurants throughout the Country will be honoring our Veterans with free meals, and discounts.  So let us join all the organization who are honoring our Veterans today and show our appreciation a...

Do you know the methods the IRS could use to collect your owed money via wage garnishment? To stop a wage garnishment for back taxes, you need a smart plan.   This often means negotiating with the IRS and using certain legal options. Here’s a comprehensive overview of the steps and considerations to address this issue: Understand the IRS Wage Garnishment Process A wage garnishment or wage levy happens when the IRS tells your employer to take a portion of your salary. This is also known as IRS wage garnishment. This money goes toward any unpaid tax debts you owe. This process continues until the debt is paid in full, you make alternative arrangements, or the levy is lifted.    What is Wage Garnishment? The IRS can take a part of a person’s wages to collect unpaid taxes. This is one of t...

What is presented or shared should be what it is i.e. what you mean, know & understand. Why would I have upfront, in advance attitude that causes me to doubt, confuse or hesitate when something is presented to me? Listening to what is said, and not reacting, allows a greater force to kick in that will either support or question, what is taking place. Allow this & here's whyTHE TRUTH HOLDS ITS OWNWhen I hear someone speak or something is pitched or presented to me, I do not go into the judge mode but the listening mode instead. The truth holds its own with little or no effort. It even stands firm when questioned or challenged as well. My ear, focus & respect goes to work when someone else is speaking/sharing etc.WORTHY NOTE: Do not let doubt creep in. Instead, seek daylight & objectivity...
