It's #GivingTuesdayYou know. After Thanksgiving, and Black Friday, there's Small Business Saturday, Cyber Monday, and then...Giving Tuesday. It's day to donate to charities. Well, I'm involved with a service sorority that raises money for cancer research. Each chapter raises money and then we have a national convention where we vote on doctors doing revolutionary research and we give them money to work toward cures. Last year we raised and awarded $380,000 to 6 doctors. My sisters made a video about why we joined Phi Beta Psi. Perhaps you'll consider making a tax-deductible donation today.   Thank you in advance,DanaUpsilon Gamma Chapter of Phi Beta Psi

An Unexpected Challenge: VertigoOn Monday afternoon, for the first time ever, I experienced a severe case of vertigo. If I tried to sit up straight or stand, I had sudden attacks of vertigo. The room was spinning and I experienced nausea, vomiting and heavy sweating. After a few hours of this condition, Dolores called 911 and the Montgomery County Rescue Service took me to Adventist HealthCare Shady Grove Medical Center. They did extensive testing all night Monday and this morning with an MRI being the final test before they released me to go home. I am still moving slowly and have to be very careful but am very thankful to be home. Chrysanthemums, Kentlands Photowalk, Gaithersburg, Maryland USA IMG 6296Canon PowerShot G11 CameraPhotograph by Roy KelleyRoy and Dolores Kelley Photographs

The current population for the Town of Flower Mound as of 2022 Census Records is approximately 78, 214.  Flower Mound is not as big as Dallas or Fort Worth but there is still a lot of mail being delivered through the Flower Mound, United States Post Office. If you live here long enough, just about everyone knows you by name or will at least smile, hold the door, or say hello.  Across the street from the Post Office is the Legacy Learning Center. The Staff sees the growth of children from infants to School Age where the Learning Centers picks up where child development is needed most in social, physical, mental, and educational growth development. Field trips are a big reason why children are enrolled. Some exciting road trips may take students to other areas outside of Flower Mound such...

I love it when our NW Coldwell Banker Advisory Board takes on a project and gets it done! We met last Monday morning and several members volunteered to make calls narrowing down projects in need where we could make a difference. We are in the middle of our Toys for Tots campaign but wanted to take on another local group of families to help make a brighter Christmas.Foundation Communities still needs families to be adopted to receive Christmas presents. We now are helping make holidays brighter for two families. One has five members and the other six. They have specific gift cards they want per family members. A task we can get behind and make happen quickly.           One member brought in a pre-lighted 4 foot Christmas tree with the cutest hat topper! We brought in decorations, decorat...

One of my favorites is the annual Christmas Parade. In each community there is planning and anticipation by both the ones who enter the parade and those that plan to attend the parade. Then the icing on the cake is Santa Claus coming to town!Farmville Virginia is no exception and this years' Christmas Parade, put on by the Farmville Jaycees, is themed "A Valentine’s Day Christmas: Hearts and Love". I am excited to see all of the work that the entrants have done to again make this a small town tradition worth talking about. For More information on the parade or other e...
