JeannieBird Baking CompanyI was in Westminster, MD on Saturday to have lunch with my friend Megan. She recommended we go to JeannieBird Baking Company, she says: "Have I ever steered you wrong when it comes to food?" and she hasn't. I was not disappointed!!They have a small menu with all the items being made right there.  I ordered a chicken salad sandwich on a flatbread and it was amazing. I judged every place on their chicken salad and for dessert, I got a chocolate croissant (also made in-house) and Megan had a spinach and feta croissant and a fruit tart. The service was amazing, after lining up to make my order, someone brought my coffee to our table and refilled it a couple of times and checked on us to make sure we were okay and the owner came by to talk to us as well. JeannieBird...

One thing for sure we have plenty of dining choices in The Villages, Florida.  What I like are then dining choices a 5-minute golf cart ride from my home and we have plenty of them.  The Tierra Del Sol Bar & Grill is one of them only 1.2 miles away.  One of the great things about The Villages is the country clubs have restaurants and bars and are mostly tucked away in neighborhoods.  Golf course living is important in The Villages as homes line the courses.  Where there are golf courses there are country clubs and where there are country clubs there are bars and restaurants.Tierra Del Sol offers dining 11:00 am until 8:00 pm daily with Happy Hour 3 until 5 daily.  The restaurant also offers “Live Under the Palms” with live entertainment Wednesday thru Saturday from 3-5 pm featuring many...

Hike Alder Springs Ideally In Fall Or Spring The hike to Alder Springs outside of Sisters limits motorized access from December 1st through March 31st to protect the winter rangeland of the local deer populations. However, access to the trail head is on rough dirt roads for which 4 wheel drive and high vehicle clearance is recommended. Directions to the official trail head can be found on the USDA website. The "unofficial" route involves travel on Locust Street (Camp Polk Road) in Sisters 3.1 miles north from East Cascade Avenue. Take this to Wilt Road, staying on Wilt when the pavement ends 4 miles. Past Rimrock Ranch the road is less maintained. Travel another 2.2 miles until you see a sharp unmarked turnoff to the right onto a rough dirt road. Travel on this past a gate until you re...

I met our neighborhood Literary Guild ladies at the iconic Brick Oven Pizza restaurant in Provo Utah the other day. Brick Oven is located right next to the Brigham Young University campus. It is a super popular place to eat, especially for young families as it is cost-effective and they have the option of the all-you-can-eat salad bar, pasta bar, and breadsticks. I ordered the salad bar and breadsticks. I didn’t order pizza this time. This is not the first time I have been to Brick Oven. When I bring my grandchildren out for Pizza, this is one of the restaurants I take them to. They get the pizza and the pasta bar.
