Wordless Wednesdays: Citrus Tree pruning in the back yard... Diane decided to prune the trees. Needless to say, she has been coordinating with our Gardner to do this. Hence, I was stuck dealing with them. They showed up in the afternoon while I was in the middle of keeping one deal together and negotiating two other deal.Next thing I know is they are putting cut branches into the "trash" barrel after they filled the "Green Barrel."  after they left, I was trying to salvage many of the oranges. Clearly you know for future Orange Juice.... Needless to say, managed to save some but what you see here was probably 50% the rest were lost!    Wishing you a safe and healthy life and I look forward to your comments. "I won't be able to see you anymore...because of my obligations..." Barry White I have some background music playing while I weed through emails this morning and I was thinking about work/life balance. We were at a business luncheon yesterday when a young escrow agent was telling a story of her envy regarding another professional who said as a means of persuasion, "I can work my own hours and vacation when I want...I can always take my phone and computer on vacation!"My business partner and I both laughed and grimaced simultaneously...we each know the many "vacations" we took where the phone or computer took us from our joy and relaxation of the moment.Work/life balance is tough - especially if you need every paycheck. But "obligations" can overwhelm us until we find ourselves too busy to...

Yesterday Candice A. Donofrio posted a question about the AI Real Estate agent JOY. I had one of those "in the middle of the night thoughts" that I wanted to share with you.Back in the 70's there was a very creative musician/song writer who had a couple of monstrous hits.  I am talking about Harry Nilsson. One non-hit but hilarious song was called JOY. Best line:Joy to the world was a beautiful girlBut to me Joy meant only sorrow. The other day, I met a girl named JoyShe said "Come here, I'm gonna make you my Joy Boy"Well, things went good, things went badNow, every time I think of Joy it makes me sadIt makes me sadThe other day, I met a girl named JoyShe said "Roy, I'm gonna make you my Joy Boy"Well, she took me for a ride, sort of a joyrideNow, every time I think of Joy I get all weird...

My attention was snagged by the notion of blank space today as I contemplated an early morning blog.My inbox shared thoughts by speaker Seth Godin, "Blank pages beg to be filled, and it helps to have them around."I thought of the Chinese and Japanese art of space and found these thoughts, "Zen artists in particular appreciated the dynamic vitality created by empty areas. They saw in them a signifier of the Buddhist notion of emptiness as the ultimate reality. In this context emptiness doesn’t signify lack or something negative. Instead, it can be understood as an energetic field of infinite potentiality. "and, "White spaces can be profoundly beautiful; full of mystery and promise, a reminder of the infinite potential that dwells within nature--and each of us. " Victoria ScarlettJan Rish...

Lemon, Avocado, Bucatini & Shrimp pasta dinner... this dinner was inspired, because Diane wanted a break from " Red Sauce so with that said I reached into my cookbooks and found this recipe in one of my favorite cookbooks: "Pasta Modern." Those of you who read my posts know I would end up modifying the recipe to make it my own.Well, I did the short recipe, lemon, lemon zest, shrimp, avocado and lemon juice. My additions, fresh parsley, clam juice, little bit of heavy cream and a lot more wine:). I also added little bit of heavy cream and substituted red onions with sweet onions as well as added some baby spinach,  Wishing you a safe and healthy life and I look forward to your comments. Two years ago today we headed out on our five week cross country road trip. It had been put off a few years prior because we got very busy in real estate and then the following year Covid shut everything down. We were happy to finally get on the road when we did and we have many fond memories of family we visited, friends we reconnected with and the many wonderful landscapes that unfolded in front of us as we traveled this vast country. So much to see, and so much we did not see….five weeks was not enough time!!As I went through the first group of photos I took on the road, I focused in on this leaning tower photo. It is something I just happened to capture as we drove by on Rt 40 east of Amarillo, Texas. I only know its location, because when I googled “Britten USA” that is what I foun...
