That's a pretty loaded question, and like Patricia Kennedy , I would say all of the above, and that includes Sybil Campbell 's  answer, too. My last office got me, because of the final phrase the owner spoke to me as I was getting ready to leave his office. It showed me he really wanted me there and I wasn't going to be just a warm body taking up office space. My office doesn't have to offer professional photography services, or even similar services, but it better have something to offer me that I want and need for my business.

Independence and no expectation of my working in the office.  I share a very nice corner office with another agent since I'm rarely there, but have a place to go when I am there.  That's a big plus.  Most important to me is a supportive broker who is reasonably accessible, including evenings and weekends.

I've moved through few offices and to tell the truth, the split is important. Yet, the culture of the office and atmosphere is important too. I like small 'family-like' brokerages where everyone is supporting each other.

Cindy, all of the above.  And my broker also includes professional photography, professional layout design for fact sheets, personal brochures, and mailers.  And she is really smart and supportive and created a company with a bunch of amazing agents who feel really lucky to be here.  You could always move to DC?

The last thing that I look for is a brokerage that takes half of your money and says "You're on your own!  They need to train and help you from the beginning snd be available to answer questions after 5 pm and on weekends.
