Each month is on a flash drive.

They're stored in the cloud, archived by date in folders named by the event or the property.

Good question.  I don't have a system but look forward to hearing what others do..

I store them electronically in non-proprietary systems.

Debbie - Well I have had several computers crash on me where I lost everything on the hard drive, and I still haven't learned my lesson. I have some storage on an external hard drive, but that just crashed on me recently. I really need to do something.

Folders by topic.  I have scanned perhaps over 1,000s images and have no trouble pull dated images. I have a backup, and cloud from year 2000.

My cloud is the hardest one to download as it is in Unix language and I have forgotten most commands... Apple cloud has not worked for me well.

And yes, they are backed up in cloud, too.

Individual files according to year, then month, then address.

I store photographs on my computer. Thousands of them are also on Flickr and in Facebook groups.

On my hard drive, sorted by year, listing status and finally by listing ("2015\active\123 XYZ Dr" or "2015\closed\456 ABC St").  They get backed up to Google Drive automatically when changes are made or new ones are added (along with crucial documents and emails).  If I need to find a listing, I can do a file system search if I don't recall the year.

I don't really have a system. I'm sure I could use one.
