Andy Madrid I think this takes downsizing a little too far.

Thye might make sense for some people, but when it comes time to sell, finding buyers and comps might be a problem.

everyone needs to be decluttered before a tiny house makes sense! I think it is the current flavor of the day

Are you kidding? I would love a tiny home! We don't need all the stuff we have and our kids won't appreciate it one day when they get to clean it all out. A tiny home would be perfect for me and Larry!

People have the misguided belief that they are cheaper and a lighter footprint.

If they do not want a condo and that is all they can afford then more power to them.

i believe, in most cases, a tiny home is a statement of living "simple and environmentally responsible".

I agree, as my master bedroom and bathroom are the size of some of these homes. I would totally have claustrophobia!

Many in the USA still embrace the TEXAS mentality. This mentality embraces the idea that privacy equals BIG. Privacy is about physical space between you and others.
There is now a segment of our population who embrace that space and privacy is mental. They further have embraced the reality that 'things' create more bondage than liberty. For these, such a lifestyle is liberating them physically, mentally, spiritually and morally.
If the reader understands none of that, do not try to live in a tiny house.
Imagine now if you are one of these and with great deliberation choose to purchase a VW that has proven to be an environment disaster. It would be as though EVERYTHING you have sacrificed for has been betrayed.

Good morning Andy. The bottom line, we don't need to get it, but to some it is a real attraction, but not for me, I like a lot more space.
Make it a great weekend!

I find it rediculous. No one could really enjoy living in those cramped spaces, at least not for long!

While I think it's neat to see how they pack so much into such a small space, that is not for me at all. I need space and I need windows and light.

Good Saturday morning Andy. I have to agree with Evelyn. Do we really need all that stuff?

Andy, I sort of get the wanting to simplify life and live mortgage free, but the tiny house movement is sort of extreme.

I think it is fun to think about and it challenges the McMansions extreme. When I was in cancer treatment in Houston I lived in a one bedroom apartment with 700 SF. I have to say I really liked it.
